So that impressive PS3 demo is going to be a game

Sadly it's Quantic Dream. So it'll be pretentious and emotions, so many emotions, the PS4 is powerful but not powerful enough for all the emotions.

But goddamn does it look pretty. Also the name is dumb Detroit: Become human

Are we really supposed to believe that a bankrupt city suddenly becomes a Robot factory?

 

Quantic Dream has made some good games like Indego Prophecy and Heavy Rain. Not every game needs crazy explosions and full control of every situation like Half Life 1 and 2.

 

From what i've read David Cage is not the only writer in this. Actually it's a team with 3 writers (one being Cage) and 2 people directing. I know, this could be even worse, but it's still a change.

And yes, the title is meh. Still i'm glad it's something different.

Konami could be doing a modern take on Snatcher using the Fox engine, with Kojima directing. But they prefer Pachincho machines...

So yeah, i look forward to "Detroit".

 

Heavy Rain really weirded me out. I did not play Beyond Two Souls. There's also that game they did on the Dreamcast with David Bowie. Gotta grab that because, ya know David Bowie.

That Trailer didn't even get into what kind of game this is going to be either. Is it going to be some weird indirect game that shows what having autism is like, as Heavy Rain is. Or something else?

It's still damn pretty through.

 

I mean, if Detroit could get razed and turned into Delta City, then why not make robots there? I bet OCP will be churning them out left and right.

They could even just rerelease the game on PSN (in English) (and Policenauts too).

My guess is it'll be a relatively slow, plodding third person adventure game that might make use of VR (Quantic Dreams likes to use fancy niche tech in their games (QTEs in Indigo Prophecy, motion control in Heavy Rain)

You just said both Indego Prophecy and Heavy Rain in the same sentence as "good games", you can't do that.

Seriously do normal people behave like the people in Heavy Rain do?

The fact that the voice cast probably aren't native English speakers doesn't help it either.

 

The crappy voice acting and uncanny valley player models do make the whole thing just weird. It's almost The Room-esque, except not funny.

Hilariously enough, Until Dawn was made by some studio that only made PS Move games before, and it turned out much better than anything by David Cage.

How long could something with that much copper in it really last in Detroit before it's stripped and sold for scrap?
