Architectural Drafter, but I don't draw anything cool. I work for a small engineering company that specializes in screen enclosures and guard rails.
I'm a History major at Iowa State University. I want to become a high school level teacher some day. Right now I have 2 jobs. Hy-Vee a grocery store I hate because of the shitty management, and how they like to screw over their employees. Not to mention they are over-staffed right now so it's impossible for anybody to get the hours they want. Gamers is a small chain (11 stores) of video game stores in Iowa and Nebraska. We sell things for any system, and sometimes have imported stuff. I know at my store right now we have silver and white imported PS3s. I enjoy this job, and it'll be even nicer soon since I'll will very likely be getting the asst. manager position opening up.
i have a diplom in Industrial chemistry. I'm working a factory of tissues, both at the machines, lab and chemical preparations as well as customer's care... we're basicly a family driven factory. We mainly work in refinement and fashion applications; we've worked for burberry, cavalli ecc ecc...
I majored in Communication Science and have a Masters degree in Human Studies / Literature. I teach High School humanities classes (Writing, Literature) and Social Sciences (Sociology, History, Scientific Research) - at a private school I teach English/Spanish and Semiotics at a local public college - and Art History and Semiotics at the university associated to the private school mentioned above. I also do translations for extra cash.
Currently unemployed. Former pallet builder at a well known soda company. Once I find work go back to school to get a degree in English and film.
I work at a Ford dealership as the sole IT support guy. I'm there now. I just lost my office, which was in the back of the internet sales department, because they hired another salesman and needed my desk. Now I roam around and sit random places, as there are no more offices left. Shit. I started at the university in computer engineering. After a year of that, I started to hate math more and more, and dropped down to computer science. Then, I hated programming, and now I'm starting fine arts (possibly graphic design?) in the fall. Yes, I know this is a bit of a low point as a degree, even considering the alternative fine arts degrees that will get you a lot more recognition, creatively, but a lot less money when you're done. I'll also snag a certificate of asian studies just for kicks, after I finish Japanese and and a couple history classes I plan on taking (the few classes that we do have to offer) it's only a few more until I get that crummy piece of paper. It will suck because I've been skipping some general ed classes and now I have to catch up. Plus, it all means I'm basically starting over from scratch, so it'll be at least 3 years until I graduate. When I moved from comp eng to comp sci, I hadn't taken any classes yet that didn't overlap, so there wasn't any time wasted there. I'm really bummed about it but I'm excited to actually enjoy school, as I enjoy my own arts immensely. Hopefully I'll finish this damn thing ASAP and then head to Japan for a bit of ESL. I don't know if it's even possible, but I hope someday I might be able to use my degree in some other country, IE Japan or Germany. I don't know. I'm too much of one of those 'immediate gratification' guys for this crap!
Sometimes I wonder what I don't do. Doctor of computer science, specializing in human-computer interaction & usability, software architecture and technological IP issues.
I'm a student at a university in the mountains in North Carolina (if you're in North Carolina you probably know which one I'm talking about). Right now I'm a Psychology major studying Art on the side, but my grades suck ass so if I don't shape up I'm getting kicked out come January. I don't have the slightest clue what I want to do with my life, so I'll probably wind up switching my major again. Right now I work at technical support for my school, which I have a love/hate relationship with. The job is pretty stress-free, my boss is really cool, and if you show up late no one cares (1.5 hours late yesterday and no one said anything to me). This is all, of course, if the employee does a decent job, and I do so there are no problems. I hate doing IT work though, and I don't want to be pegged as a "computer guy" around campus. I guess I'm doing better than my coworkers; I'm not fat and I don't wear Bittorrent and Redhat t-shirts. I've been told I look more like a hipster, which I guess can be a good or bad thing... In short: I work with computers even though I detest it, and I have no idea what I'd like to do instead.
I'm actually in college, studying computer engineering. I couldn't approve a single course yet but I know that's what I want to do and there's no way I'll abandon it... Besides college, I also have an online computers and accessories store, Maybe I don't get lots of money from it but it gives me lots of free time for college, I can't complain at all
I didn't know citrus based fruits had their own political party. My job is consultant editor for reference book as well as a exhibition consultant for an art gallery.
I was studying Computing for a few years but right now i'm currently Unemployed. I'm thinking about going doing some more studying but not uite sure at the moment.
I am the manager at a small security company. We specialise in fencing for building/ construction sites but also do things like cabins, camera, guards etc..... This is not at all how I had planned my life but I was between jobs when this first came up and the money was too good to turn down on the temporary basis. However, 6 years later I am still here. I really want to start a night course and study for something else but I still have no idea what I would like to do (24 and still can't make a decision, how pathetic). I thought about being a male escort for a while but apparently thats not cool with the missus
I've thought about doing this many times. By law you can't do anything 'extra' which is great but I think it would be expected of you after hours, and I can't run that fast.
I Work for a small "Information Technology" company.. as a project administrator... which is a job that pretty much chages each day.. cannot beleive that i will have been here for 10 years NEXT WEEK!!! ......
I work as Medical Controller for a large healthcare insurance company in Dusseldorf. A really good job with only 35 hours of work each week and a good loan. I am also Editor for two German videogame magazines - GameFront and Retro. At least the time i spent to become a professional Journalist was not a 100% waste of time.
