so who got the StarWars Light Sabre display model?
you know the one with florescent tube screwed in and when activated makes great humming sound as the light slowing extending inside the tube just like in movie... come in luke blue and darth vader red...

sadly missus think I'm a nut to thinking of a toy that cost A$240 and cannot be used but put on display...


heard in US they even released even more expensive limited edition?
saw one t one of import book shop in town - can't recall the price though...

I have the purple Mace windu saber, lights up, makes sound effects when you hit stuff with it. It's actually gained in value since last X-mas, now worth about $250. Plus it's awsome.

Oddly enough, we had the Darth Vader ones for sale in the Gamestop where I work around the time of the movie's release. They were $99, and while I never actually saw anybody BUY one, our stock of 12 or so was gone pretty quick, aside from the one our assistant manager liked to light up and menace customers with. I think that got stashed under a pile of junk in the back room or something...

Yeah it was $99 at Christmas, then around the time the movie came out people were ebaying it for about $250, now the price is back down again.

The blade is plastic, but it has a neon tube inside that lights up like a real lightsaber. Plus you can (lightly) hit stuff with it and it makes lightsaber sounds. The coolest thing ever.

 

I just watched the video of one in use on that UK site link that Tachikoma posted. They look really cool just like the real thing but I'd be to afraid to use it I'd probably end up smashing it against something.

I'm pumping into missus the idea the Anakin Skywalker version would be a good present that I didn't get for my b/day...

 

The only saber I have is the one God gave me when I was born. Doesn't make too many sounds.

 

There were a few of them opening night of Episode 3 at midnight Pretty cool heh. All the people were good and turned them off for the movie though, happy about that

 

It's all in how you use it - you gotta make your own sounds.

Wow, are those lazer guns for real? That's awsome. Little expensive though.

 

I didn't see a Maul but that's what I'd get. Probably more expensive though.
