Hello, Yesterday, I've bought this device from a store but was missing the A/V input cable for component video. Here are some pictures with the connector and some info about it: http://www.hauppauge.com/pics/webstore-main_av-cable-colossus-hdpvr2.jpg http://www.hauppauge.co.uk/pics/webstore_avcable-5xRCA.jpg https://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/~-YAAOSwq-VbeAIP/s-l1600.jpg https://eteknix-eteknixltd.netdna-ssl.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/07/DSC_0742.jpg Here is a picture with the back of the unit with the A/V connector: https://www.videoguys.com/media/catalog/product/cache/1/Base Image/9df78eab33525d08d6e5fb8d27136e95/p/l/plus-2.jpg Somebody knows a cheap alternative to this cable instead of modding the unit? Is this a proprietary connector and cannot be found? Thanks!
Why not just use the hdmi in and utilize a component to hdmi adapter? Cheap option if you can’t find the original cable
Can you still record gameplay from PlayStation 3 using that adapter component to HDMI? Because PlayStation 3 have HDCP protection and without a splitter you can't record anything.
HDCP only applies to the HDMI output of the PS3 console itself. YPbPr Component doesn't have HDCP. You can record the PS3 using a component to HDMI converter as the component signals don't have HDCP. I highly recommend using an HDMI splitter instead as you'll get the best image quality possible and they usually strip HDCP. A good one costs about the same as a component to HDMI converter so there's no point in dealing with analog video.
