Wow, so many pussies in this thread. You have his address, right? They sell large blunt objects in the UK, right? I've never seen a more obvious solution.

Well what a surprise, ebay have done feck all about it, it took them nearly 24 hours to reply to me and i got this email back, so basically, they may or may not have done something about the buyers threats, but cannot discuss it with me? what a complete load of bollocks! lets hope i have more joy with the police later on today

Thank you for contacting us again and sending additional details of the
threatening email you received from the member "************". I
understand that you've contacted the police about this and I appreciate
the opportunity to further assist you with this.

Let me reassure you that it's our top priority that eBay remains a safe
and reputable place to shop. I've reviewed the eBay member you've
brought to our attention and taken the appropriate action. It's
important to bear in mind that not all of the actions that we can take
are visible to you or may not be visible immediately. However, let me
assure you again that we've taken the necessary action.

Breaches of eBay's policies can lead to consequences that range from
issuing the seller an informational alert, a temporary suspension, an
indefinite suspension or terminating the member's account.

While I understand that you want to know exactly what action we took on
the member's account, as it's important that eBay maintains member
privacy, we won't be able to share these details with you.

As for reporting this matter to the police, we'll be happy to help with
any police enquiries. Please ask the investigating officer to email us
by using the "report information to eBay" link on the following page:

    http://pages.ebay.co.uk/help/tp/isgw-fraud-ebays-role.html

Again thank you for taking the time to forward this information to us,
we rely on dedicated members such as yourself to help us keep eBay a
safe and reputable place to buy and sell.

    Kind regards,

That's just great eBay. Slow hand clap for the idiots in their security department. Firstly, you want to be assured that threatening emails / PMs or IMs are effectively dealt with. No ifs, no buts and certainly not 'invisibly'. Nothing else would set your mind at rest.

Secondly, what is the point if you are not informed that the matter has been successfully dealt with and a follow up?

eBay truly are a lax bunch of barstewards and every time I hear people attempting to make some kind of complaint I see yet more 'official' eBay statements that make me wonder where their form of eCommerce is heading.

I'd get better service down 'The Barras!'

Personally, I would have told the guy to screw off. I mean, as far as he knows, you could also some bad-ass affiliated with some biker gang or sometihng. :) But then again I have more faith in the saying "All talk, no action".

If I got a dollar for everyone who followed through with the crap I've received, I'd be a very poor man indeed!

Well, i had a meeting with PC Plod and Plodette earlier to report it, they have taken copies of the emails, a full written statement off me, as well as the guys address, phone number, ebay id etc. but will not tell me what action they will be taking against the guy, understandably they have more important things to do with and they have said its not high priority, but basically they said not to reply to the guy and if he emails again then to let them know, and if on the off-chance that he turns up on the doorstep to call 999, not the most comforting of outcomes but even so at least it is logged now

I replyed back to ebay about the completly inconclusive email they sent me about the supposed 'action' they were taking and they have thus far not replied

What pisses me off the most is that looking at this guys feedback, he has scammed so many people in the past but yet ebay are turning a blind eye to him, more than likely because of how much he sells on there (and consiquently how much money he is making them in fees etc.) , last week alone it was over £4000, which considering he is a private seller is a hell of a lot of money to turnover in a week, considering an anonymous tipoff to the inland revenue as by the looks of it i seriously doubt he is declaring his income

So basically sod all is being done about it, i have calmed down a lot now, but it is still slightly un-nerving, yeah there is a 99% chance he is bluffing, but there is still that 1% chance he may travel the 150 mile journey to my house, brick my windows and kick 7 shades of shit out of me, so just in case i now have my nunchucks by the front door as well as a old cricketbat in the cupboard, and my Katana sword in the bedroom (purely ornamental, but you never know!)

    My advice:

Go outside, climb up onto your roof, and look in the direction of his house. You'll likely see a giant vagina, for this guy is a huge pussy.

In fact, you'll probably notice that the whole countryside is covered with them. They're everywhere.

Very few people have the actually have the balls/time to actually come after somebody who pisses them off on the internet. They'll talk, but thats it. If he wanted to do something, he'd do it by now. I'd recommend sending insulting emails inviting him to your home for a free ass kicking.

Nobody actually planning on doing it would tell the person they were going to. They would simply turn up on the doorstep. Plus, frankly you'd have to be a nutter to just randomly turn up on someone's doorstep to threaten them. Andy could be a 7' tall viking with an axe handle and several mates who are bikers!

Anyone ever seen 'Eagles V Sharks'? New Zealand film. Pretty weird, but some funny bits. There is a character called Jarrod and he is on a revenge mission to get back at the bully who made his life hell at school. I'm not going to give it away, but the scene where he confronts the guy is hilarious!

I ll repeat what I said earlier. Don't give in to bullshit. Intimidating people has always been a pressure point for those lacking negotiating grace (USA?) Just report him and you ll feel better.

It's all about the safety of wife and kids, something not all of us had to deal with yet (including me) in that situation you don't have much choice but to back off.. or somebody might show up at the door when you're not there.

On the other side 150 miles is quite alot, I would be more worried if it was the same city or nearby but 150 is far enough to be pretty sure it's a false bluff but still.

Give us some credit... We did negotiate with the DPRK and working with Europe with the Iran situation. If it wasn't for us the IAF would have probably bombed Iran six ways from Sunday by now.

your perception regarding the state of Iran, the threat it poses and its usefullness to the global well-being are flawed and twisted by the USA's internal media machine.

As a business lawyer myself, and having dealt on a business-level with Iran recently, I can tell you that there are too many financial interests and trade agreements at steak, so no one's bombing anyone. Iran isn't Iraq and the US can't afford another war anyway.

The US has sucked at negotiations - this comming from someone who's interest and field is negogiations - ever since Bill left the White House.

The state of Israel is the first American-protected state to be hurt in retaliation if anyone bombs Iran, and considering the number of Jewish Americans in the Congress, I don't think they d like that.
