Some changes to the site. Clear your cookies !

As you may have noticed, we no longer have a portal. I was trying to upgrade it, and it being a hacked version, the upgrade failed in quite a spectacular fashion.

So for now we have the forums with no portal.

I don't know if it will be missed much at all.

It may take you some time to get used to the new layout.

Once I get some time I will get a custom style for the site, but for now I'll
    settle for functionality.

Please report any bugs in this thread.

Pretty big problem with safari - It no longer remembers I have logged in. When I try to reply it asks me to log in, then gives me the "Thank you for logging in the_steadster" screen, then redirects me to another login box and does the same. Posting this from Firefox. Safari also seems to be missing the new posts button at the top. (EDIT: this is probably because of not letting me log in, I expect)

Another minor complaint is that the assembler logo no longer fits in with the style, but sounds like you are going to be fixing that.

Dont we now have a licence though? or is this because it was built on a cracked version?

We have a license, we have ever since Kevin started taking donations. If you having login issues you need to clear your cookies as Kev said, we modified a lot of stuff in order to get it working to this point as well as clearing a lot of crap that the original installer put on the forums.

The topics are being marked as read properly now, so the best thing to do right now would be just mark every topic as read and try it out. Now when you view the last new topic in a forum that whole forum gets marked as read. Where before you'd have to enter the forum once again in order for it to be read. This should make things a whole lot easier.

Thanks for the feedback so far everyone, keep it coming :)

We had an illegal hacked portal, and a hacked demo of some ancient version, and it all just fell apart.

It tooke me hours and hours to fix it, and thanks to dot50cal for helping out
and continuing while I was sleeping.

I had some issues with all the topics being marked as new, but I think that will fix itself the next time I log in.

Mr. Casual, Mark all topics as read and it will be a-ok from then on. The reason why is because I modified the system to actually mark forums as read when theres no longer any topics. Before you had to not only click on every topic, but also go back to the main forum index and then back into that forum again in order to mark them as read.

I had some problems with Firefox, although clearing my cookies did the trick as well.

The site can't seem to 'remember me'. When I log in to the site and check the 'remember me' box. After loggin in I close it, then come back to the site and I have to log in again. This is only at my work PC though.
