Such is society I am afraid, you see the same thing against old white people as well, colour doesn't matter to twats like this, they just like to feel superior.

Well, the situation was pretty amusing in that that old fella really couldn't have peddled any slower if he had tried. That aside, that was the typical "lads" out on a night out attitude. No respect, no deceny and even tried to effectively get out of paying for it.

These are the people I hate, they travel the world and claim to have visited other places, absorbed cultures and learnt something of foreign life, but they actually just treat everyone & everything with no respect.

The old man should have kicked their arses! Now that would have been funny!

Wonder if they are the reason why I was asked "ARE YOU AUSTRALIAN?" on the streets of Akihabara by a random old man. However the random conversation turned out fun and we had a good talk about as obscure things such as the eBay founder

On topic of the actual video I can only say that I look down on people like that. Here in Germany it happens at times too, young guys bully old people around. But there are still some good folks left too, Just yesterday I saw someone around my age help a lady carry bags. I have not yet lost all faith in society, but it's definately falling down more with every new generation.

I have completely given up on my faith in this country, I don't see anything good in it anymore, I despair for my son to grow up in this world.

Now, I don't agree with what the three plebs in that video are doing at all, far from it. But at least there weren't any blows etc.

I don't think its fair to judge everyone in the UK and say that we don't respect the elderly as a country. I think things like this happen pretty much equally in many Western countries and indeed around the world.

Some of those comments on the youtube page are ridiculous. I can't do with racism in any shape or form.

being a dick to those who can't defend themselves is a little-man's exercise.

For all the shit and the entertainment the poor man "provided" to them, they should have paid him double what he was asking for, since it was so entertaining.

I don't really see the big issue other than they are a bit drunk and the old guy is driving them down the street at < 1MPH on a rickshaw. Then they refuse to pay him.

Questionable behaviour, but you're all over-reacting or misunderstanding what is happening.

People in the UK respect the elderly about as much as people in the USA do.

Well, you of all people Jim, having lived in Greece should know of the uncivilized manners of British (not just English) citizens during summer holidays in Greek islands. They're on the news and under custody ALL THE TIME during the summer.

Being drunk is one thing - using it as an excuse to disrespect other people, vandalize public property and being an uncivilized dick is quite another.

Having lived in the UK for 4 years now, I now trully believe that most folks here are alcohol-junkies (from the looks of it), and they just love getting smashed which many times leads to trouble.

Americans are nowhere near as alcohol-dependant for their fun as people living in the UK. Must be the weather or something :p

Have to agree with that - there is a problem. I'm one of the few people I know that can control themselves while drinking (ie not going too far, thinking about my actions etc). It seems the majority of people aren't bothered what drink does to them.
