How far did you get? Heard it gets a LOT better after a while.

You never know i heard that sonic 2 was going to appear on the xbox live arcade but in HD. Like you Gleavepaul i also would really like a brand new sonic game in 2D but with good graphics kinda like what they did with sonic rush on the DS

Actually Sonic on the Wii gets pretty good. I got it on the 15th and played a first few normal levels. At first I found the controls odd but not poor. I soon got in to it though. It's actually a pretty cool game once you get in to it. Give it a bit more time, I'm sure you'll like it.

Probably the only good Sonic 3D game since the Dreamcast Sonic Adventures.

No offense, but it sounds like you didn't know what you were getting into when you bought the game.

    What exactly were you expecting?

Then why on earth did you buy it?
Did you see the box, view the demo, read the review and go 'shucks, that looks like a whole 2D adventure right there!' Plus, you do realise that there are brand new Sonic 2D games on handhelds.

Solution: if you don't want to bother playing TSR, take it back, buy a SP (or alt. a Gamecube with a Game Boy Player) and buy some Sonic Advance games. They play like the original Sonic games, That'll keep you happy. Or a DS, but you'll probably be frustrated by the non-regular control-structure in that too.

no offence to sonic advance, but Sonic Rush was better than all three Advance titles imo.

That may be true, but currently you can't play DS games on the big screen which some people may prefer.

That gives me a thought: HEY NINTENDO! GIVE ME MY WII-BASED DS PLAYER, DAMNIT! :p

THere's only one thing that pisses me off in Sonic and the Secret Rings which is the attack controlls. THrusting the Wii remote forward all the time really does make your arms tired after 2 hours. I'd rather they just made the attack a button press.

The Wii-effect is wearing off already? Sooner or later people will be just tired of swinging the damn thing around and we ll be back to buttons!

I was never in to the swinging the controller idea. Some games make good use of it but something like Dragon Ball Sparking Neo is just plain F*ing stupid which is why I use the classic controller for that game. Sonic is another. Sure tilting the controller works great for movement but all this thrusting forwards for an attack is dumb. Developers need to sort out their ideas. Just because you can do something with the controller doesn't mean you have to. SNK are culprits of idiocy with their Metal Slug collection. They ruined a fantastic collection with dumb stupid controls. Now the Japanese version isn't out yet so with luck they'll add classic controller support.

    Exactly my opinion!
The Wii will never become the Status of serious a VideoGame-System like other Systems... Its a Fun-System mostly developed for younger Users. Of course, older People have Fun playing with it too. But if i think about sitting the whole Night in front of my TV and playing a good Game... 2 Hours Hack´n Slash in my room and my Arms feel like Hell... Thats not what i want. I want Video-Game Experience and not those cute Play/Sports Games...

My opinion: In 2 Years the Wii is dead.

I've made it to the final boss. And while Secret Rings DOES have its moments, they're too few and far between to really make the game good.

The control gimmick just murders the game IMO.

Not as far as I know. The US release was crazy Wii controlls only.
