Sonic fangame made with the...... doom engine?!

Then again there are the insanely stupid fan characters teenage Sonic fans come up with. I'm on my PS3 so I can't post the Dorkly video of the Sonic fan characters. It's pretty spot on.

 

Playing through this, it made me want to make a few doom maps (just finished a remake of DM-Tempest from UT99, came out pretty accurate actually). Seeing the stuff this sonic mod pulled off has inspired me, im gonna start working on a metroid prime game using the doom engine. Whether or not I actually finish it is a whole other story, lol. But ive already figured out how to make destructible walls, that will only break from bombs dropped in morph ball mode, how to switch 3rd person for the morph ball and back to 1st person for everything else. Im working out a way to make it so all of the arm cannon modes have an alt fire, which will be used for missiles. Definitely an ambitious project... lol. Wish me luck! XD

EDIT: If anyone knows of a good 3-D model ripper for GC/Wii games please let me know.

I don't, the problem with the series today is that it took the nanny-gaming approach and now every sonic game is practically on-rails.

Next they are gonna take the "game" part out so it can be a GOTY like gone home...

The new game just reeks of desperation, typical redesign because they don't know how the fuck you can fix the game, or as SA put it: "We hope that the scarf makes it easier for you to think of Sonic as a contemporary to heroes like Nathan Drake, or the kid from Bastion, or Assassin's Creed Man, or the guy from Watch Dogs if that game sells very well."

All sonic games after sonic and knuckles+3 are crap. I can't get into any of the newer games. they don't have the same touch as the originals did.

 

Change the sprites for ponies and you got the MLP fanbase

I think the "recycling" after the crap PS2-era sonic games brought a new wave of kids into the game. Maybe is just me but the franchise seemed to have a period of complete irrelevance.

 

The last good one in my opinion was Sonic Adventure 1 & 2 while Super Mario's last good game was Super Mario 64.

Yeah, Sonic Generations is pretty awesome. The 2D parts are what I wish Sonic 4 was (Sonic 4 would have been good had it not been for the exceedingly floaty physics).
