Some of the comments here range from the ridiculous to the plain insane,Yakumo and Great Saint Louis being the only sane ones left on the board at the moment. Sega is nowher near dead and if half of you did your research ,you would know that Sega's big announcement had to be pulled at the last moment.Toshihiro nagoshi's latest article in Edge explains that fully.(yakumo if you want a scan of this pm me mate,in fact I'll email it to you to put on your site if you like.)He was to announe a major new franchise but he had a massive disagreement with the pr guys in the US and decided to pull it because of this argument. From what I can gather they wanted to totally change the wording of his demo and change things here and there and he just would not budge. He IS going to announce this game soon so we will just have to be patient.Sega is trying to get back on it's feet slowly and until it does we will see conservatism from them which makes good business sense. As for Nintendo being dead, thats just people talking out of their arse. The GBa is by far the most profitable console of this generation and they continue to make billions of dollars each year. They have two consoles in development(revolution and Gba2)and have another scheduled to release at the end of this year. They have more games in development than any other developer or publisher and again led the publishing revenue last year.Yes they are not as succesful as they were oin the past but neither are Sony, look at the figures. They are running second in the console market at the moment but that's not disasterous, just look at Sega in the Mega Drive days. This is not the desperate rant of a nintendo fanboy before I get all that pish,I am merely stating what is fact.If Ninty had no money and were going down the drain, they would not be producing new consoles,it is as simple as that.Sega too will eventually get back on their feet and they now have the backing of a major company in Sammy, and are no longer in debt since becoming Sega Sammy holdings.Who knows,Sammy may now feel it is viable to reenter the console market with an approach similar to Microsoft's,remember The dreamcast only failed because it was so ahead of it's time,Microsoft took many of their online ideas and executed them when people were just about ready to fully embrace the internet. :smt024
SEGA WILL NEVER DIE!!!! :smt023 I really cant wait for sega to make some more clasic games like in their early years!
What have the put out in the last year that's good and innovative? VF: Final Tuned (Virtua Fighter 4 part 3) PSO: Blue Burst (PSO version 4) PSO: Ep I & II (PSO Version 3) Puyo PUyo Fever (fun, but still Puyo Puyo) Can anyone help me out here? Back when the DC was still alive, they put out games that sold like shit, but were at least innovative and fun. Avalon no Kagi is about the only thing I can think of that Sega has put out that's a totally new idea (arcade RPG... saveable). Their rehashes and sequels are welcome, but there needs to be some balance. I guess I"m really miffed after Sonic Heroes being so lame, and Shenmue III not coming out yet. While I'd love to see them not die, come back, whatever, I've heard "Sega is gonna...." for ages now. EDIT: The Sega Ages 2500 series. I give them credit here, as it will appease their oldschool fans, but is the very definition of non-innovative.
let's go sega , make an other black console, like the ol'day!! white wasn't bad too..... anyway , just make a new console!
Sega Ages Yeah I was thinking about importing one of the PS2 packages that came with a T-Shirt but 80 bucks is way too much for a T-Shirt and 2 games that I don't really want... P.S. Anyone know if you can get one of those shirts seperately for a good price?
I liked Sonic Heroes, what didn't you like about it? My favorite part of the game was how they added bonus stages like those in Sonic 2.
Overall sloppy design is what turned me off for the most part. This is what happens when you develop the game for 3 systems at once. The camera sucked ass.... that was enough to kill it for me. Too easy to run off cliffs when you should've been zoning in on the enemy. The B-button flashing, signalling you can either pull the switch or some other event, only to figure out that you can't. It's fun for a bit, and I'll eventually get through all of the stagse, but it lacks a certain level of polish that you expect from Sonic Team.
