    Well folks, I have some small good news and some major bad news: the game is pretty in High Def.

    Now, the bad news, and what many have been fearing: Sega took a shit on the Shadow engine. Just to give you a general idea:

    -The camera is slow and unresponsive, not to mention swinging it around takes about 10-20 seconds.

    -You cannot jump if you just hit a speed boost, which causes problems. Not to mention the jump in general seems to be delayed from the button press.

    -The lock-on is spotty, unreliable, and glitchy. I fell through the geometry 3 times, and I missed things such as springs and ropes many times (Oh, and the springs just bounce you up, you have to do a jump dash, which is annoying)

    -Weird enemy glitches, such as Sonic getting stuck inside a enemy and dying, and lock-on being spotty on enemies (Missing the air enemies many times).

    Oh, and the level was short as well. In general, I am hoping the game is the E3 demo, because this would be a disaster if this was a near final product.

    Well since this is Sega's first real chance at making a decent sonic game after so much delay, I'd really hope they'd improve upon that demo, but if it's only a very small area they may just be getting desperate for attention.

    Not being able to jump of speed boasts..ludicrious.

    just played the demo myself. The game tries to be SA2 but fails due to unpolished controls and some problematic camera angles. The combos that i use to pull-off on SA2 (in which i had everything A when it came to Sonic/Shadow missions) werent as well timed on this version, but i nevertheless got a B rank on the first try. Too easy to get points it seems (or is it just me who's better after so many years?)

    Anyway, I havent played Shadow (and nor do i intend to really, i never liked the gun thing going on), but at least this Sonic game plays better than Heroes (they didnt handle the criterion made middlewear as well as they handled their own previous engines).

    I was hoping of something more along the lines of Sonic Adventure 1.

    Ah, I almost forgot. Lots of slowdown at some spots too.

    sonic is starting to slip, and maybe he ll be hanging out with crash bandicoot and spyro in some years if this shit keeps going on.

    Ah shittes! WTF SEGA? are you EA in disguise or what?

    I mean, really, the same combat shit from Shadow? If I buy a Sonic game is to play sonic-style, not a bad Jak clone:DOH:

    Anyway, I agree with barc0de: the next sonic game should have the adventure fields from SA1:nod:

    Controls= Bad
    Camera= Garbage

    Graphics= Lush and the only saving grace.

    I hope they realize it needs much more refining....as a Sonic fan it's a pretty bad letdown.

    I played the demo and it seemed pretty good. Though what was odd was the 2nd time to replay it the demo was all slow and was choppy. Then I exit out of it and access it agian and it plays fully smooth again.

    However after beating the level i play again through the demos menu and same issue. However later I pick it up and it plays perfectly fine, no slowdown at all. I am guessing that this demo is based on a very early build from the looks of it.

    Well that gives some hope that the game may not be as sucktastic as the last ones were.

    Which brings this up: Why would they use a older build, and not the E3 version that had Silver playable? What company in their right mind would promote their game with a broken version that seems to have memory issues and is full of glitches and problems?

    It might of been a mistake or it was rushed onto market place.

    It cracks me up that most companies will put the "this is a in progress build, final product might be different, might notice glitch glitches, etc." on demos that appear final and hardly change,yet it seems sega forgot to.

    Controls seem right, though some areas such as the rope jumping were a little tricky but not that bad.

    Still I have hope for this title. However I do miss the days when naka directly worked on the serise, which might explain why he now has his own comapny.

    I have a bug in my marketplace, dont know about you-

    every demo i get listed from the New Releases list is double, with the top one being a certain game (Can't recall the title). When i chose to download sonic for example, it ticked both selections in the list!

    I think the marketplace may be getting glitchy. I can't even download the F.E.A.R demo, it always come up with some sort of code saying it cannot download (Yet Lego Star Wars and Sonic downloaded just fine)

    not very pleased with the sonic demo. I actualy had more fun with doom on xbox live arcade.

    Yes sadly I'm a whole and will go buy gamer points so I can buy doom from live. This probably the 2-3rd time i've bought doom.

    The DS Sonic game is rather nice. Sonic should stay in 2D, really.

    On a related note, does anybody know of somewhere on the internet where I can see an accurate list of the demos on Xbox Live? I ask because, currently, I have to unplug the ethernet cable from my computer to use Xbox live, and I'm too lazy/busy to set up a router. It would be nice to be able to tell what demos were available before I go to the trouble of changing the cable. I used to look on the Xbox website, but they don't keep it updated very well.

    majornelson's website www.majornelson.com posts the latests demos. I think xbox.com list them. Yes you can use a usb keyboard, but only fill out forms(such as info or codes used towards points and subscriptions).
