    SonicBoom v037 Level Editor

This is the "as is" release for the Sonic Xtreme level editor named Sonic Boom for v037 Levels. That means that the functionality of the editor is in the state at which it had been found. The level editor itself is only partially functional. (many features and buttons don't work)

The goal for this project is to release some playable Sonic X-treme Builds for the world
to enjoy, based on the original engine. Please keep in mind that these are not final builds of the game, engine or levels.

This release in particular is a snapshot in time of the Sonic Boom Level Editor and levels the way they were found in the assets archive, and they were clearly in between a code re-write, transitioning between major engine revisions.

The original code had to be edited to restore some basic functionality, and to port the engine to run under modern Windows OS with all the rendering now done using OpenGL.

If you are missing a DLL, you may need to download the C++ x86 Redistributable.

The readme file has much more information on how to work the editor. Want to contribute to the project and think you can write a better guide? Write up a nice guide and we may add it into future releases!

    Additional support.

    Tichua:

This is soo cool. I'd always hoped we'd see more of xtreme, but to see the tools that were used too was a bit out of my expectations. Thanks as always everyone involved.

We had initially planned to do a PDF guide with illustrations, but seriously lack the time to do something like that these days.
Hoping we can get someone to write up an instruction guide and also someone to do some bug reports. ( there are a lot of issues that need to be documented)

I'm sure someone will be willing to develop a guide for this, considering how many users on both Sonic Retro and here will be using it. Thanks again to everybody involved! Although I probably wouldn't be able to come up with anything cool, it'll still be nice to play around with.
