I'm just going to have to post more logos...

This is the newest design. You can colorize it to whatever color you like.
All my other logos are on another hard drive at the moment.

Hmm, it didn't really turn out what I wanted it to be, and it has (still) no decent background, but I hope you like it anyway.

(I wanted it to look "Xtreme" by using a sketchy style, but it didn't turn out great.)

There's some great covers in this thread. I like NaOnak's design. Seems quite well done. I'd like to see where grap3fruitman's design goes too. I also like Jonny's submissions. All the serious entrys are cool, I'm sure whatever ends up winning will be a good fit.

It could be also cool to use an actual image of the disk of the original proto

This is my attempt. I didn't notice the US cover was already decided, but oh well. I took Chris Senn's original concept, tinkered with it a while then added Sonic fonts I found on the 'net:

You know I like pretty much all of these submissions, but none of them really catch the use of the word Xtreme very well. I like Na0naks cover, but it has absolutely nothing to do with Xtreme nor does it look exciting or Xtreme in any way. With the exception of Senn's original concept as seen in Taucias cover, nothing else fits right..

NaOnak/Senn's design would be pretty cool if colored correctly.

Anyway, I really like how the picture kinda "invades" the space of the Saturn logo in this case:

This style used in Genesis since 94 and on other Sega consoles onwards (but not on the DC) was awesome at the time, so I think it would be great it we used it since that gives this beta more of a mid90s feeling.

I feel the same way which is why my JPN cover I submitted looks similar.

Curse my inability to manipulate photoshop.

Upon thinking about it for a while I'll attempt to explain my idea.

Take the Sonic that Taucias used and place him on a black background toward the upper half of the box. This should in effect make him look like a ray of light coming out of the darkness. Use grap3fruitmans Sonic Xtreme logo staggered like this
    Sonic
    Xtreme
at the bottom of the box.

It will look menacing and still capture the original essence of the project.

BTW I always liked the silver/black lateral bar in the US VF2 cover, its really classy:

    What if we use it?

Here is the original : http://www.lostlevels.org/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2006/02/sxc_cover_concept.jpg

If anyone wanted to give it a go

My bodge job took about 2 hours and was originally with a black background with fire behind sonic, but I liked the comic book style background more when I compared them so I brought it back in. I think Senn hit the nail squarely on the head.

I also like the way the motion-blur invades the title space, infact Chris Senn's original picture has one of Sonic's feet overlapping the Sega Saturn logo. I think the Sonic render is hideous though, and no where near the quality of the original sketch.

    How about this:

I tried my best to get it to match the style of the Sonic Xtreme logo, but I didn't have that exact font. If anyone could hook me up with that font, I can make an ASSEMbler logo with similar styling.

I have created another cover using the euro box art this time and think it looks ok.

I like the way sonic gets his colour from the background, That happened purly by chance while trying a few things out but i instantly liked it.
