hi members , i was wondering if anyone knows when the new Sony Alpha comes out it will be the model after the A6500. Also does anyone have experience with the A6300 ?. I'm curious about the Firmware that combats the overheating and if it is still a huge issue or it has improved a lot and if it's worth the purchase. chat soon
It's hard to say - the release notes say it's intended to address overheating in still mode - but I never had any problems in still mode, only when shooting 4K video. I haven't had any problems since I updated, but that might just be because I haven't been doing long video takes anyway. Even with the old FW, it only gave problems (for me) on takes that were more than about 20m long.
Sorry for the necrobump, but I was just playing with the camera and noticed that the V2.0 firmware added a "shutdown temperature" option, which on my camera was still set to standard. So it looks like I never hit the point where it would have shutdown even on the V1.x firmware. Sorry for not noticing that before - but I have to say that the menu is by far the worst feature of that camera.
no worries Mesh , yes the menu is quite complicated and has a lot of tabs/settings even tho i'm going to grab a 6300......can't wait
