Yeah its strange that this doesn't seem to be available anywhere else other than Richer Sounds in the UK. Would have thought it would be a jp exclusive product if anything. If only I could justify buying one of these for use as my PC monitor.
I would love this like other members have mentioned in a 32 ~ 42 model, but I do find it strange that it looks like it will not be sold in the US . . . oh well, still a freaking neat idea . . . -Disjaukifa
Somebody is selling one on gumtree for £300 already. http://guildford.gumtree.com/guildford/93/69851293.html
I expected this TV to be a load of crap and it turns out it is. A few guys over at NTSC-UK bought some and none are particularly impressed. Here's one buyers impressions. Well i opened mine up to have a look at it working with the inbuilt ps2 and working with my fat freemcboot ps2 . PISH POOR tv Ha ha ha ha That's my honest view on it.Freemcboot didn't work with the inbuilt ps2,ps1 mickeys wild adventure has terrible banding problems on this panel and the lag is very bad ,tested this it with the ps2's capcom collection.sf2 was bad ,but ghouls n' ghosts really shows off the lag,it's over half a second easily. Two of the usb ports are only 1.0 versions, probably because these ones are used for the ps2's 1.00 peripherals Using component on my fat ps2 disables the available game mode and that's all i can be bothered to say about the set(the usual "hd tv's are crap for retro things" still holds true here(even with the set calibrated)). So after that comical test, all that was left was for me to say ,Go on, geeet back in your box son, someone else will let you out ,in a decade or so. Here's some info from the console's version screen. Console-px300 browser-1.40 cd player-2.00 ps driver-2.00 dvd player-3.11E I can't find the panels refresh rate listed anywhere ,going by ghouls n' ghosts no wonder . Component supports these formats;1080p,1080i,720p,576p,576i,480p and 480i HDMI 1,2 3 in supports video:1080/24,1080p,1080i,720p,576p,576i,480p,480i Audio:two channel linear pcm:32,44.1 and 48khz,16,20 and 24 bits, dolby digital Analogue audio input(mini jack)(HDMI IN4 only) PC in(mini d-sub 15 pin) CAM slot LAN:10base-t/100base-TX connector And last but not least ,dead pixels do not indicate a malfunction ,i repeat "do not indicate a MALFUNCTION"
Yeah, many people thought about getting one but the guys at NTSC-UK aren't impressed at all. Better save the cash for something better.
It's a nice combo, obviously. But I Think the price (at least here in Italy) it's a bit too much High.
Lag? Wow if it's built into the set shouldn't it not have that issue? Though honestly this tv doesn't exactly make sense, I mean ps2 been dead for awhile. But I guess based on it's budget price and European only release, it is targeted towards a specific audience.
Lag shouldn't even be an issue at all. I have two HD TVs (37" Toshiba Regza and 50" Sharp Aquos) and neither have any noticeable lag what so ever with everything I've tried on them from Saturn to Naomi to Xbox 360. Even the Mega Drive seemed fine lag wise. Looks like crap mind you because I'm using composite for that, YUCK! That Bravia is probably made up from 5 year old parts Sony had left in a manufacturing warehouse somewhere.
This is only 22", though. I say buy one, keep it in the box and sell it at an insane price in like 20 years
OOps, yes 22" sorry. Still for a Sony TV with that range of inputs you'll be pushed to get one for less than £250ish. Crap brand TVS for a lot under yes, but not Sony.
Sony pretty much IS a crap brand TV judging from all the complaints I've heard about their TVs over the last few years...
I bought a 22 inch tv a few years back. 1080p vizio from sams club, it was a display model. I paid $149.99, which is like 112 euros. If you look for the deals, they are there. These sorts of sets are usually for those who are uneducated, and know no better.
