There were several portable CD-i units. As far as units with screens go, there was the Philips Magnavox CD-i 350, 360, and 370, Goldstar had the GPI 1200, and Sony had the IVO-V11... There were also several other "portable" units that were very compact, which separate screens could be purchased for (I think), and these include the Philips Magnavox CD-i 310, Goldstar GPI 1100, Kyocera Pro 1000S, and the NBS Lookman ID. As for the Zelda games, I'm curious about something... of the many people who completely trash those games, I wonder how many of those people actually own them, or have even played them before. I bet the number is small.
Nah, the big-ass one, anyway, the whole Zelda was just a joke, the graphics were sub-par even for the time being, and those FMVs were just too lame to see them twice. I heard the CIA uses the last cristina aguilera record for PsyOps in guantanamo. Maybe they use this Zelda game too:110:
What's the name of this forum again... oh right, I believe it's "off topic", btw you asked a question and got an answer, so why are you complaining?
Glad I got an answer. Jus tdon't like it when topics go off topic. It's one of my personal pet peeves. Plus I thought this topic was longer than it is for some reason.
It wasn't intrusive but it made me go "Ho-hum" . Nice to see more positive British role models though eh? All I see over here in the USA in the media are toothy posh blokes or scum of the Earth yobs!
I havent seen the movie yet, nor am a fan of james bond. Dude I once meet a retired CIA spy and they never get any "fun" in their jobs. Shit, the guy told me how once he had to hide in a letrine for 2 days... So, is the movie that good?
A funny thing is, the man who is playing "mr. White" in the new James Bond movie is also a Dane, who has been in many Danish films over the years. His name is Jesper Christensen http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0159802/
Holy Hell.....WTF is with Europe and cost-of-goods. Even if it is $89, that's still insane. Income is taxed at preposterous levels, and then goods are relatively more expensive vs the rest of the universe as well. At least in the UK, relative salaries are also lower (after FX) vs the US before you take into account the taxes or any of the other stuff. I'm not sure if Europe is the same way or not. I don't know how anyone affords to do anything over there. Anyway, in regards to Sony, Ken has no reason to be offing himself just yet. All things considered, he's done a marvelous job over the years of running SCEI. It was the only Sony division making money for a long time. It's the guys over in consumer electronics, the ones who neglected DLP technology and portable HDD music players who will likely be jumping in front of trains. They're the reason why Sony is in the position they're in. The company has made some questionable gaming decisions as late, of course, but none of that has had a materially negative impact on their financials. The only big boo-boo will be if the PS3 R&D expenses don't pay for themselves over the long run, which is very unlikely.
Yes, it is. Obviously movies do no portray life in a completely realistic manner - who would want to watch someone shuffling papers in an office? Supposedly, the original books are based on how life was in the British military intelligence back in the days just after the second world war and into the cold war. Just watch the news - some ex-KGB double agent was poisoned with nuclear chemicals in London recently. These things do really happen, albeit in less dramatic ways the majority of the time. In terms of Casino Royale, if you hate Bond then this probably won't change your mind. However, if you are a fan of the books and feel the franchise lost its way over the years then this film goes some way to return James Bond to his roots. The stunts are also real, not CG.
So he got poisoned by a hot russian spy who put the polonium in her vagina and had sex with him? cuz that what would happen if that was a james bond movie:110: Dude, just imagine how boring MGS would be if instead of being based in reality it were based on the 007 books...
Not entirey. Thats 45.34 gbp (sterling) at the current exchange rate. Minimum wage is 4.45 gbp an hour for 18-21 year olds & 5.35 gbp an hour for 22+ Average is about 16 gbp an hour. You do lose money to taxes, but it's banded. At the top band it's 40% but you only pay that on the amount in the band & not the entire amount. For people with good jobs a new game is a mornings work. As long as you get a month or so out of it then it's not that big a deal. You can easily pay that amount of money a month on satellite tv subscriptions. Now alot of people won't be able to afford it, but they can't afford it in the current generation and prices aren't too dissimilar. smf
Back on topic... SquareEnix just gave Sony the finger: the next Dragon Quest installment is to be published on the DS.
In what way is MGS based on reality? I've never heard of any giant nuclear mechs being stolen by a crack team of genetic mutants and holding the world to randsom. MGS is about as realistic as the Bond franchise. If MGS action was backed up with a plot written by a professional spy-thriller genre writer then it would be all the better, IMO.
I meant the way snake operates in MGS, is pretty realistic (althought limited due to gameplay) and similar to the way an actual spy moves around, not like bond who goes around in a car thats worth more than the income from 4 agents combined. The way bond kills hundreds of henchmen with much more firepower than him is as unrealistic as any Rambo movie.
I don't know about NSA, but CIA has a max pay of 60K per anum (for field agents) but alot of bonuses (including child support, schooling etc)..so I ve been told ..
