I don't think that using mame for Star Wars Arcade is an option right now because playing Star Wars Arcade using mame is impossible, the emulation for it is bugged to hell, you can't even play it because about 10 seconds after you start playing the game goes all screwy as seen here:

Well that sucks. The arcade version is -infinitely- better.

That video was scary. It really is startling. It's too bad it doesn't work. I didn't find the 32X version that bad but I never played the arcade version.

From what I have read, many games are region free (eg Kolibri) - not sure if that is correct, but random searching myself gave me that understanding.

NTSC - cheaper to collect than PAL.

There aren't many titles, just get all of them.

While Kolibri looks very good... it just plays good for around 10-15 minutes. :(

This is why everyone is different. :p

I didn't like Darxide (granted, only played it a couple minutes) however sat through a good hour of Kolibri.

Are there any games that are only released in Europe or US? IE. ones that must be bought in PAL or ones that must be bought in NTSC?

Darxide and FIFA weren't released in USA.
Romance of the Three Kingdoms IV was Japan only. Not worth looking for, US Saturn version can be found under $20 if not $15 complete in box.

I don't think the baseball games exist PAL. Certainly not Spider-Man.

It looks like these you'll have to import too:
    Pitfall
    WWF Wrestlemania
    Star Trek
    Brutal Above the Claw
    BC Racers
    Tempo
    Blackthorne
    Fahrenheit 32x version
