I would also like really rare equipment for free. I already have a PS2 TEST unit, and don't have much space for a second free one. I'll just go light the other one on fire so I can make space for the freebie.

NPDP units are basically cubes which use 2.5" hard disks as their storage medium. V. Expensive, but very quick for running programs on.

to be clearer you need the red box (the reader/cube) and a grey box (the actual hdd drive in a plastic case) the expensive things are those hdd cases/ modules i think

Thanks, not that i will ever get one (or even find one to buy) but can you put in larger HD's or are you restircted to the 2.5, r th ey supplied and encoded by nintendo?

Amazing place, i just spend most of my time looking then googling these things mentioned to try and find out what the hell i am looking at.

    Cheers.....Q

One assumes you'd only need one size of drive as the Gamecube discs would only have a limited size so even if they used a huge HDD they'd still have to try and cram it onto several discs in the end.

Though I know very little about this unit other than messing with the ones they have at Abertay University.
