I heard they have a very bad reputation in Japan because the fifth part was found in the tape collection of Tsutomu Miyazaki. It's debatable if this particular tape and not one of the 5900 others had influenced him, but still...

It's almost the same as with "Mordum" that was mentioned here as well. I've read some reviews of this and I'm definitely not going to watch such sick shite. There is a scene of several minutes in which the corpse of a child is violated. What kind of people create a film like that? What kind of people enjoy a film like that.

i think such a gore/splatter/trash movie explain the world better as "standart, normal" movies.

    i love:
Dawn of the living Dead (original + remake)
    Zombi 2 was good, too
Braindead + Bad taste + Meet the feebles(by master of good movies: peter jackson)
Night of the living Dead (remake too but the original is better)
    City of the living Dead
Return of the living Dead (the first movie is the best)
    The toxic avenger
    Reanimator + Bride

    and much more...

Hahahah, yeah, that's the one. The shark scene is priceless. I have seen Dellamorte DellAmore, but I didn't like it that much like most European horror stuff from the 90's.

Story of Ricky aka Riki-Oh is also one of my all-time-favs. The English synchro is hilarious ("You are all free now!") but on German this movie really kicks ass, LOL. It's pure fun splatter, not serious at all. Get a crate of beer, two friends and watch this gem.

I like Hellraiser, I've got myself the three first parts on DVD when I was in England (they're brutally cut in Germany and not for sale in public stores). But to be honest, I don't think anything that comes after part two is worth watching. The first one is a gory classic and pretty terrifying, the second has this abstract sub-theme that puts you in some sort of Dalì-esque parallel universe. But the third one seems just like a generic B-movie that lacks both gore and story. >_<

But talking of classics, Evil Dead is an alltime fav of mine. The whole series, although I consider part TWO to be the best!

Yeah I have all the Hellraiser movies. The first two are really good but they just do downhill and stay there after 3 (of course, I still bought them all.) The last one with Lance Henrickson barley even has the cenobites in it at all.

Man, this movie is awesome. The first time I saw it was way back in like 1996, when I used to hang out with this guy named Levin (I called him "the Paranoid Russian" becasue he was like incapable of feeling joy.) His entire life was black metal and horror movies. Anyway I was under the impression that this movie was ultra super rare, becasue the only copy we could find was a bootleg with Cantonese subtitles. Lots of titties, people getting brained with a shovel, a girl zombie head tears some fool's throat out, a whole bus full of Nuns and boyscouts bite it and come back from the dead, people get vomited on, Best movie ever!

I ve seen all six Hellraiser movies and I can safely say that the first one was my favourite. It really stands out in my view. I'll also give a nod to the fourth movie for enriching the story/backdrop.

Yup. The last two were pretty decent too.

I don't know if all of these count as "splatter" movies, but I've seen so many horror movies that they just kind of blur together at this point. Some of the more obscure stuff I can remember right now:

    Three... Extremes
    Machine Girl
    The Stuff
    Filthy McNasty/McNastier/McNastiest
    Red Room
    The Cook
    Happy Tree Friends
    Anything by Troma
    Microwave Massacre
    Call Back
    Sick Nurses
    Teeth

I quit after part 6. 5 and 6 were more psychological thrillers than splatter. How's the 7 and 8? What should I be expecting?
