Hell yeah! I wanted to see the second one, too. I think its cool to see so many Final Fantasy and Disney Characters meet up.

You know, like SSBM, I would like to see a multi platform fighting game that is similar to Namco vs. Capcom, but something like Nintendo Vs. Playstation Vs. Xbox Vs. Sega.

Who else would like to see everyone's favorite game compnay characters duking it out with kung fu fighting? :-D I would.

I think a Link vs. Sephiroth battle would be kind of cool, Imo.

Meh....Square-Enix sure likes to keep it's fans waiting. Why not show FFIII, or create a remake of FFVII instead of all these spin offs/movies?

I'm looking forward to FMA 2 but they should really do a port of 1080 snowboarding with FF7 characters... not.

Well, Nintendo does stuff like that all the time. Square Enix just needs to know which Final Fantasy Character should be their "Mario" and "Bowser".
I think Cloud and Sephiroth fit that Category.
As for Xbox's main guy--Master Chief. I don't think the main prophet is popular enough, though.
Soon we might see Final Fantasy Football, Soccer, Volleyball, baseball, pinball, racing, FPS:D, and whatever else they can be milked for.

FF7 AC looks like a video game movie that *might* actually be good. Then we see FF7 AC the game. :smt042

cahaz, in all seriousness I would like to know why you hate spin-off games so much. I'm not trying to start a "flamewar", I just want to know why you don't like it when a company uses their characters in their games. I have always liked the idea of seeing characters in spin-off games, and I wish more companies would do it. I can see it now, "Master Chief Kart". The last track would be the Halo.

I always wanted to see Metal Gear Baseball for some reason.

    Announcer:
And up to the bat comes Raiden, and...poor devil can't even pick up the bat! Metal Gear REX is really putting his cannon to the max with those hyper fast 1000 MPH Strike-outs as well. Yes, folks, this looks to be a VERY fast game. :smt043 :smt042 :D

i don't necesary dislike spin-offs, but it's seems that you need to be as unimaginative as possible to seel these days, put the same face over and over again to make it more and more popular to get more and more sells each time. Take nintendo by exemple (the best exemple i yet, i'm just tired of seeing nintendo only making this all year long and then releasing their long awaited game at then very end. It looks like they're trying to patches the holes since there's not alot of third parties doing games for their consoles, so they make everything they can think of and then put the face of mario and is name at the beginning of the tittle to sell, because mario is a known and charismatic character that was more popular than mickey mouse in the days. would doki doki panic have sold so many cartiges in america if it wasn't because it's called Mario bros 2? But it would have been still a great game, just like the original version and that's the problem with the market, if you do something that works, you can't show anything else and you're forever glued to your old creation, and you'll just end doing the same game over and over again...And now, if you try to do the originalproject you had in head and stick the face and name of your old success, then you'll be blamed because it wasn't as the original. Really, i don't talk about the quality of those nintendo spin-offs, because they're quality games. But i'm just tired of seeing nintendo deseperatly trying to sell their cubes to people with mario's face, since there's not alot of 3rd parties releasing games in a month. Seriously, Mario's face is depressing because it make you feel like nintendo' situation going worse and worse. Can't they be a bit more imaginative and finnally make other people in the party? New faces never hurt, and if the game's really good, you won't need a character that everyone already knows to sell it. Why can't nintendo change a bit, making a game without mario for a time, and more ambitious than regular spin-offs ambitions? do they fear it won't work? have they ever tried? they're trying to revolutionnize the hardware, but forget the software that comes with it and rearshe that old 8 years old game with a some little extras (i think everyone knows what i'm talking about) can't they try to do a new platformer someday, not in the same style of mario (as far as they can) and release it without any ''product placements'' or anything? i'm sure it would be benefict. I'm not telling to scrap mario in the basket, not at all, but make it less apearant to make the next adventures of mario and co. more awaited by the public ''finally, a new mario! hurray!'' it would make the game more mythic, and wouldn't destroy the magic. and this applies to every abusive spin-off's head character and/or world and or/group.

''Let's make grat amount of cash and quickly, let's make another spin-off with our most popular character! We're sure it will apeal to the masses, cause the love the character and would buy anything releated to them, it as been prooved before anyway. throw an idea like that, realise it and stick (insert name here)'s face for great results (intterms of copies sold for sure, anyway)''

and seeing an Halo kart would just be stupid and out of context (no offenses AWS and Mr.casual) , just as the metal gear base-ball... but i'm sure it would sell anyway.

i'm sure you could sell anything with cloud's face, no mather the originality or the quality of it.

How would a "Master Chief Kart" be any more stupid and out of context than a "Mario Kart"? That's the point of the spin-off game, to put characters people love into situations they normally wouldn't be in. How about link fighting Mario, or Wario and Luigi going at it in a good game of golf? Stupid and out of context, but it makes for a great game and that's all that matters. :)

It would be funny as well. As long as they are fun, I see no problem with any spin-offish games. Super Mario RPG could have been considered a spin-off, but it was one of the most quality games ever made. Nintendo makes more faces than you think, Cahaz. They are making more and more bad guys besides Bowser, in a lot of their recent games. Smithy, Waluigi, that witch from Superstar saga...Mario just brings back some good ol' memories for me, and the more the merrier.

I would like to see more SSBM/Capcom vs. whoever-ish games, too.
    Such as:
    Working Designs Vs. Atlus
    Radical Vs. Bungie
    and others...

Metal gear baseball was just a silly idea I had when I had too much free time in English class. :D

BTW, Halo already has vehicles in it, so you can go "Halo Kart" if you want. :p

yeah, nintendo's making new evil faces in mario world, but it is still in the mario universe and all. can't they try something different ? making new people but outside mario's world? just like Link , Samus, Star fox and those guys in pikmin aren't in the same world, you know? because the last world they created i remember of, apart from pikmin (wich was average, imo) is star fox in the 16-bit era. Btw, where the hell is Earthbound and co? i mean, less mario more earthbound! we've waited for a sequel for this great rpg for too long.

and i never said mario kart wasn't out of context either. :p

Most Nintendo franchises this generation were "second"-party licensees(ie companies like Namco, Rare, Retro, Camelot etc): Super Smash Brothers Melee, Donkey Konga, Star Fox: Adventures/Assault, Both Metroid Prime games, F-zero, Paper Mario, Mario Golf, Tennis, Party... most of them by different third parties. Nintendo has third parties, but behind the scenes where nobody notices them. And they make remarkably good games with those licenses.

Product placement sells games, deal with it. Again, I'm not trying to defend this unoriginality - just stating why it occurs. I'm not sure why you've brought this up again so soon after the last thread on this, actually...

Blah. No Mario game is superior to Super Mario Brothers 3. The only one that comes remotely close is Mario World.

WHEN are we going to see a new one that's as massive as those ones were, back in the day?
Just keep things simple and fun, and I won't give a damn if the game is a spin off or a brand new franchise.

I have to disagree. I like World and SMS more than 3. World is way better IMO.

And this is kinda going OT so we should rap it up guys.

because someone asked me to do it.,

and second or first doesn't really mather, the point is that nintendo accepted\called them to make it , and gived all the rights to do it.

as for the star fox\namco thing, i thought it was average, from what i've played (it was a demo in a EBgame), it just didn't felt like an old star fox and more like a star wars with cute animals in it things, more like a film and slow might i add. but this is just what i've felt when playing it 5 minutes, maybe i'm wrong.

...and where was that lilliat map anyway? :(
