Sacrificial KO as they used to say in Melee! PQNCY it was a good match! We ll have to repeat it and hopefully lure some other members into the pit fight
The ladyfriend sent me this from the US, it's still not out here. :-( I agree that all the characters seem rather sluggish this time around, it's quite a jarring change from the more rapid 'Melee. The Great Maze at 70% or so into the SSE seemed to be a method of artificially increasing the game length too...plus it wasn't really that fun. Not played online yet mainly from fear of lag & I do agree that 100% or so isn't really a cause for alarm anymore...and yes, tripping is really annoying. Incorporating items into the mix does mean a successful victory can arise purely out of luck though, you can be charging a smash attack only for an explosive to materialise above you and knock you out, nothing you can do! I kinda miss the "oomph" the attacks had in SSB64 too, it seems that with each iteration the sound of the strikes gets toned down (though Ike's are always satisfying when they connect).
a tip: use the Classic Controller and you ll instantly notice how it seems to react quicker to your commands, more akin to that of Melee. I m used to the GC pad, due to its shape and button shapes etc, and even by remapping the Classic Controller layout, I still played like a n00b. Also, we had a 3 player match for a couple of hours yesterday and it was good fun - the game's starting to shine slowly but steadily.
oh i play with a gamecube controller. there's no way i'm gonna play it with anything else. f that.
This is the only thing that annoyed me in a way, i mean you still get "score" at the end of the 1 player matches and im sure its added up by the specific things you do
