ssrpg has a translation patch for french any news on an english release?

Talking about SamSpi RPG, Victor Ireland from Working Design has tried to make an English version of this game for PlayStation:

That would have been great, would love to give this a go in a language I can understand

I downloaded the French one and truth be told I could play/ that one as I understand French but I'd rather play the English version if available.

 

Something tells me that someone somewhere will eventually release a full english version of Samurai Shodown RPG when no one expects it. Probably on April 1st so no one believes it.

 

I can help translating but i don't know how to see the japanese text in hex editor ! It seems that someone else already is working at spanish version of the translation.

I was just searching threads for this, bummer looks like no time soon eh? I found something on a Neo-Geo thread elsewhere, where a guy said he was translating this and..wow, it degenerated fast into a flame war.

 

I was reading through the comments; a few weeks ago, MoriyaMug (YouTuber who posted the SSRPG English beta), made mention that the project was in jeopardy because his external hard drive was faulty and was waiting to see if the files could be recovered.

A week afterwards - he said the following: "If it turns out that my work files are lost, then the only thing left to do would be to toss the unfinished beta into the wild and wash my hands of the whole thing."

I have looked for current updates to this YouTube video, but nothing has been updated in a couple of weeks. I Googled him on Twitter and he made an update today: "Sooo... looks like the Samurai Shodown RPG translation project is dead. The HDD with all my work is unrecoverable, it seems."

That's too bad ... Seems he had been working on this for years. Question is; will he release the beta?

He made mention on NeoGeo Forums that he was also working on an English translation as well as the Spanish - back on 7/25/2014:

According to the Spanish forum that he referenced - he made mention that he is 50-60% completed. Posted on 12/07/2015. I'm assuming that he will complete the Spanish translation before working on the English... fingers crossed.
