They either changed their minds or parts of the source code should be kept closed.

Don't forget the demos. One has something about sending email for a chance to win the full version. I think it's a bit too late for that. *cough*

The pk3 are just .zip for possibly easy modding.

Now if we could get the source code for Dark Forces, Jedi Knight, and Mysteries of the Sith...

    Edit: And Gamecube Outcast ver.

The engine for Jedi Outcast (Quake 3) has already been ported to DC, am i right?
Of course there still is code that needs to be ported and that's the custom Raven engine mods

Yeah, there's some proprietary stuff they forgot to take out of the source before release. They're planning on re-uploading it once it gets removed.

There's also a project already where a couple ex-devs are working on a cleaned-up fork of their own. I don't know if it's still up or not, I don't have the link handy...but I know one of them has an interest in DC programming. I doubt he'd be interested in porting this project to DC, but I can ask him next time I catch him.

Edit: Yeah, porting it to DC would be way more work than it's worth.

.. but that shouldn't be a problem with a retail quake 3 port and Ravens sourcecode released :D

You forgot the tricky RAM limitations on consoles.

Yes, but there is already a port of the main engine (Quake III).

Thanks for that. Apparently I added that link to my favorites for later view, and then completely forgot about it...
