They did use a human in the original but it was cut as were scenes with Biggs and Luke on Tantooine shot but no sound, the Tosche Station. Those are the big three from the first one. Empire has a subplot with wampas being captured and contained, during the escape Threepio rips a waring off the doors, so the snowtroopers enter. That's about the only one I can think of. Jedi had a sandstorm scene after rescuing Han, I've only seen one still from it. Don't think the eworks were anything less then a marketing gimmick. All the specials we watched as kids, growing up, all the behind scenes books that are long out of print, all of that... Lucas has. The Ken Burns doc on the last box set was a real piece of crap truthwise from just about every angle. You want to read the truth HERE is where you start. At least Speilberg gave us both versions of ET and CE3K
hmm on the dvd version they toned down jabba's yelp too. I love that Lucas stated "there will only be one revision" and look at this shit.
He should get them all... I mean, with episodes 4 to 6 he will fear Darth Vader. In episode 1 he will wanna be like Qui Gon Jinn, will hate Jar Jar and LOOOOOOVE Darth Maul. And in episodes 2 and 3 he will LOATHE Anakin for being a sissy... They are meant to be seen as a whole. And quite frankly, if they had cast someone other that Hayden Christiensen for the role of Anakin, both episode 2 and 3 would be much better. The rest of the acting is good. And one of my all time favorite scenes in movie history is the one in which the emperor fries Samuel L
What are these ? Are they laserdisc rips, or something else ? Are they anamorphic, unlike the un-edited DVD issues that OP is speaking of ?
No it didn't. In fact, it was funny, but I still love him. Besides he's the only Jedi ever to find a way to communicate though the force after he died. I just like the guy... He's better than Anakin for sure. At least he doesn't complain like a little girl whose doll has been stolen. http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Qui-Gon_Jinn And this is one awesome video. This is the reason why he should get all the movies: THE LASER SABER DUELS!
first person I've ever met who liked Quigon. and didn't obi-wan use the force after he died to tell luke to not use the optics when he shot the proton torpedos into the death star?
Qui-Gon was pretty much the worst Jedi, and Darth Maul was definitely the worst Sith ever. He didn't do anything, and he was killed by some apprentice despite having a two-bladed (admittedly awesome) lightsaber, and the high ground - remember how that was supposedly a huge advantage for Obi-Wan in Ep. 3? Of course you don't, you're actively trying to forget the prequels ever existed.
Watched all three. I see why anamorphic would have been nice- whats the point of displaying in a 4:3 letterbox. VLC combatted that little niggle anyway. Enjoyed them a lot- I really expected them to be boring and geeky. Episode One I have seen, that was boring as fuck. BTW, if you guys havent seen these reviews.. you need to.. http://www.youtube.com/user/redlettermedia?blend=1&ob=4#p/u/0/CfBhi6qqFLA
What are you guys talking about? Episode One is the BEST! Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan are the BEST, the TRUE MASTERS! Not like the fight of Yoda and the Emperor in Episode 3. That was a let down... Everyone was expecting more. And Anakin, oh please, why he survived the pod races... "Find a way", not "only one who used". I believe that is a common sense that Qui-Gon taught this to Yoda and Obi-Wan, no?
Qui Gon rediscovered the force ghost thing. A few lines were cut from Episode 3, but the idea of it is that Obi Wan had some learning to do with his old master.
I wanted to get the original cuts before they disappeared, at the time that meant either acquiring the original trilogy on VHS or Laserdisc, SO: Of course, the DVDs came out not too long afterwards haha.
Actually, the double bladed saber is more of a hindrance than an advantage. You have to keep in mind that if you know where one end of the saber is, you forcedly know where the other one is at any given time. Double blades are cool but functionally, it stops the person wielding it from using different styles and manouvres. The thing about Darth Maul is that he was trained more like an assassin than like a true sith. He only did what the emperor asked from him and that's it. He really didn't have the spark that made other sith lords really great... But he was a killing machine until he met Obi Wan, who is actually one of the best jedi of the whole movie saga, so his death should not be taken into consideration as lame because there is nothing lame about being killed by Obi Wan.
