Now that Capcom have pulled some of the on line facilities the price seems to be dropping of these gargantuan items

I have several already but is it true that some of the very early ones had different coloured buttons?

As would like to try and add one if this is true.............

    That is correct.
I had the first run model, but sold it due to all the space it took up.

Anyone else noticed that the Japanese version footpedal unit looks different from the US one?

I've been itching to buy one of these just to try out. Can you guys give me any suggestions if I should buy it or not? I wouln't be playing it online so would it be worth getting one just for single player mode?

    Is it worth the price?

My be worth getting one now as he price is dropping slowly

Check this out for an insight

    http://www.steelbattalion.org

Got to have thye space to leave it out for days/weeks as it is such a pain in the "RS" to keep setting it up!!

Check out Capcom`s site as what on line parts have been stopped.

After much searching just found this.......oh well more searching to do :-D

But then do I open some of the sealed ones to check them

Our Gamestop was trying to sell that game without the controller. :smt067

I tried to explain why it wouldnt work to them, and they got aggravated and said "Surely it'll work with a regular controller, sir.". :die

I have it, and love it :) Tough as hell though. I also use it on my PC, so it works well :)

Do you need special drivers for it? Must be fun to play Mech Warrior on PC with that.

How cheap is it now? I was thinking of repicking up Steel Batallion for my collection after I stupidly sold my old version for a DS.

God, now I KNOW that the SKU in the register actually says "CONTROLLER REQUIRED" next to the game name (assuming it was a used copy).

Anyway, I personally like the 2nd edition of the controller though the green buttons do feel more "military".

Well it transpires I have at least 1 green and 1 blue button controller`s and two more that are still sealed in their delivery boxes.

    Mine are all PAL versions.

The original Steel Battalion is a Green Button Controller

The one opened Steel Battalion LOC is a Blue Button Controller.

This is the serial/batch number on the outside of the box (opened blue one) I am sure is 2138, but could be 2128 or 2158 as didn`t pay to much attention and not going back in the loft again

First of the two sealed LOC.....box serial/batch number is 1163

Second of the two sealed LOC......box/serial batch number is 1215

So perhaps all the LOC are Blue buttons

    All four :)

Well at least now I don`t have to go opening sealed ones or splashing out on "NO 5" for ` definate blue one!!!

does anyone know whether Tekki:Line of Contact beta test disc contains any off-line playing mode? Someone told me so but I very much doubt it...

And I no longer have XBOX LIVE to test that theory... :p
