according to some news I read, about 6 of them. It's sad to lose such an influential person, although I don't own many Apple products and never had a Mac.
Wasn't there a press release a few weeks ago saying he was taking a back seat for a while? Only 55 too, that's no age.
We know he has some health problems but I won't buy into the info untill there is more substance to it. But man if true, Apple stock is f***ed hard!
I won't believe anything till I hear something from Apple themselves . . . though Steve has been getting thinner and thinner . . . -Disjaukifa
Not sure I'd care if he croaked to be honest. I wouldn't wish it upon him but everyone has to die some time and Apple isn't a one man band, the engineers do most if not all of the work. Even if he dies young he still had it good living the millionaire lifestyle doing something that he loves which certainly beats living on next to nothing and a long lifetime of abuse. Just watch 10 years after he dies though for the iPod Steve Jobs edition complete with DNA hologram being sold for next to nothing to commemorate his passing (commemorate = whore out their products for more $$$) and bought by people who do not even know who he was or what he did. That would be the real tragedy.
Source: The National Enquirer, based on images of him walking out of a clinic he visited for pancreatic cancer treatment 2 years ago + 'hearsay'. Enough said. UPDATE: National Enquirer link is not available worldwide, so here's a link to Gizmodo: http://gizmodo.com/#!5762521/steve-jobs-has-weeks-to-live-says-the-national-enquirer
National Enquirer is just a shit tabloid that morons eat up. If his health is really going south it'd be a shame to lose someone who helped revolutionize the computer world several times. I may hate apple products and will never own one, but I will say he has done a lot of work for that company. As for Apple's stock plummeting, it's entirely possible. People who even have the basic idea of the industry know there are tons of engineers who work on every product, but the way Apple and its fans hype it up is that he's a one man wonder machine, who even when sick at home still calls the shots.
if it is true that will be tough on his family. Knowing apple die hards the stock will fall like a rock as soon as the first thing goes wrong.
issue is he does have pancreatic cancer and based on it the disease can take you quickly. If this ends up being an Enquire ruse then Apple will geatly benifit from the news. I would suspect in this case then their stock may have a positive spike.
"Jobs returned to his previous job at Atari and was given the task of creating a circuit board for the game Breakout. According to Atari founder Nolan Bushnell, Atari had offered US$100 for each chip that was eliminated in the machine. Jobs had little interest or knowledge in circuit board design and made a deal with Wozniak to split the bonus evenly between them if Wozniak could minimize the number of chips. Much to the amazement of Atari, Wozniak reduced the number of chips by 50, a design so tight that it was impossible to reproduce on an assembly line. At the time, Jobs told Wozniak that Atari had only given them $700 (instead of the actual $5000) and that Wozniak's share was thus $350." No. He is a horrible person.
Would not wish it on him but he has always seemed like an ass to me. Also, Say what you will about the Enquirer but they have been on a bit of a roll. They were the ones that tanked John Edwards career by breaking the story about his affair and secret child.
There have been rumors about this before...maybe people should wait for a more reputable place to report this.
