Picked up a scart lead the other day in with a bundle of kits I just got and haven't seen one like this before. It does look official but I can't find anything like it so I am really unsure. What do you guys think? (Forgive the pictures, I did try my best) I'll hook an xbox up tomorrow and try it out.
Mind telling us the number off that Toshiba chip? If it is what I'm thinking, Then this is nothing more than a pass through with volume control for the 3.5 mm headphone jack and an SPDIF out. From what I can see the RGB signals should just pass straight through some capacitors and leave the box. Rest seems to be for audio. Anyone else know more than a dumb redneck? I'm probably wrong...
I think I see "TC9235P" and here is its datasheet, and i think that it is what you said Sonicdude. Nice find.
And I always try to find datasheets of every chip im intrested in, it can explain alott And your right i think, Kiff can take another look at it to be sure
I wouldn't think that's legit, calling a 3.5mm audio out connector a 'phone jack' really doesn't sound like it's a legitimate official accessory.
Personally while I'm a bit curious to try scart on NTSC xbox for the heck of it, not worth spending money on. Already have what should be the official component box.
SCART on NTSC won't work since it is just RGB video with a huge ass plug on end. Componet NTSC uses different signals on the same lines as the RGB PAL Xbox. You need a different BIOS for the SCART to work properly. I've heard it shows a green tint without the proper BIOS swapped in.
As "headphones" I suppose. But yes it doesn't look like a official accessory. There's no MS P/Ns on it. XBOX accessories have "MSX" (as MicroSoft Xbox) on them. Particularly on plastic bits. This one is for CodeAsm: SONY designed the new ultra SLIM PS3 motherboard to be called MSX-01. lol
as for the new ps3 ultra slim... sony made it to dump existing stock of ps3 parts... they are really pushing for a 2013 xmas realease.
@l_oliveira haha lol, thx. I always like it to find MSX printed somewhere. I was Surpriced when I first opened my Xbox to find MSX. Now I see it everywhere, found it under a Microsoft drinking cub, in SOny device (no playstation) in a Dvd player Mobo and lots of carparts show MSX or something. But a Playstation with MSX is Nice hell, I want my MSX emu on it playing a 8bit version of the xbox1 bootanimation To the original poster, Do you happen to have a picture of the underside? or are there no real id info there? like numbers, production dates or something?
I took another look at the SCART cable, and actually did notice something. On the plug, there is the offical "Xbox" text that you can see on the plug end of other official accessories. I don't have any handy, but I don't recall the 3rd party plugs having "Xbox" markings on them. It also uses the same exact plugs as an official Xbox SCART cable, leading me to believe that this is indeed an early SCART cable that wasn't meant for retail.
