Im not sure if this has already been covered and im sure that you could say its covered by the marketplace somehow but i was wondering... Alot of people in the PAL game territories collect non-PAL release games and the same vice-versa with NTSC Territories based collectors going for PAL Games. Putting hardware aside for the moment, why dont we operate a swapping system between members?? For instance, UK based members have LOADS of access to cheap (not overpriced) PAL Games from various sources including those that would not normally be open/shoppable by people based outside the UK. Why cant we offer the doubles, requests for items on a 'swapshop' system? I for one am starting to get into the NTSC-J games for the PS, GC, & Xbox but dont always have ready funds available for the common games that are sold on ebay at over inflated prices. But i know that these common games are the bread and butter software in the original regions.. why dont we start swapping so that none of us collectors/gamers/enthusiasts end up paying over the odds in the long run.. i see it as a win win situation all round??? Suggestions please!
was intending too in the long run, but wanted to gauge peoples thoughts first.. (esp Kev's Thoughts to the idea) Lee
sounds great to me! dont know if I would be very active myself as I don't really collect games but if anybody outthere needs me to check for cheap PAL games or CDI stuff then let me know
Sounds like it could work, but in my opinion, there aren't a lot of people in the NTSC regions interested in PAL releases, as most console games comes from Japan. All I know is that there is a limited amount of PAL games that aren't available or harder to get in Japan, and was not released in the USA.
i agree.. with the PAL format being seen as a worse quality then the NTSC side of things i know that even if you wanted to take the PAL releases and resell them via ebay etc, would it not still be beneficial? Im not totally a collector myself, i just like something different..
Although, there are somethings in Europe I'd like to get my hands on, but are no longer accessible to the US ;-).
they're we go.. an idea to start! lol.. I thin kthat it could work with a bit of control and people working together maybe evencombining shipments from one continent to another to reduce shipping fees also??
There are some euro only releases I like to get my hands on. Such as the english version of doshin the giant on cg.
Id be more then willing to contribute when I can, if only because I have a PAL ps2 sitting here collecting dust
sounds a like a great idea (says another PAL user) ..so anyone needs a NES Shadowgate translatead in to bad Swedish? ;P
Good idea, but there're already ways to get US and JP games (in my case) for cheap like ebay.com or yahoo. Shipping will stay the same though, if you get your stuff from forum members or some stranger on ebay won't make a difference. And paying EUR20 more for a jpn console on ebay.de may come cheaper than buying one for EUR20 less and but paying EUR30 of taxes and shipping.
