I recently had my SFC super cic modded by consolepassion.
But whenever i play any game, PAL or NTSC in 50hz, the screen frequently jolts every few seconds.
    Its really bad.
Is there anything I, (never modded b4) can do to fix it?
Or is it bad work on consolepassions' behalf??!?

Please help me, if you guys can help me, i'll donate another $2.50 to the site or something. i dunno.

    Please help :|

Are you using RGB? What kind of TV?

super cic doesn't mod the color encoding. RF / composite / s-video at 50hz won't work right on a stock SFC, it'd attempt NTSC50.

that's good. ntsc50 for lack of better description is what happens if you switch an ntsc console to 50hz, then do not use either a color fix or rgb.

It's your PAL Gamecube RGB cable. Remove the 75 Ohm resistor inside the plug that goes into the SFC. It's weakening your sync signal. The original japanese SFC RGB cable doesn't have this resistor.

This is the cable you got right now:

This is how it should look for the Super Famicom:

Here is a picture of the resistor:

Your RGB cable will have a few more wires put the resistor will be at the same spot. Just use scissors to cut in at his metal legs.

Thats a poor reason to not try another TV. It will actually probably work just fine on another TV - a lot of tv's are more forgiving about the issue Sanni has posted about above. Also, when fault finding, you should try to limit the options. Even if its "not my tv mate" - you should always try another anyway, it makes pin pointing the issue a lot easier.

^this. If you've tested it on another TV then you should say so as well as posting the two brands/models of TV just in case it is a known issue. I've put together S-Video circuits that work great on my 32" Sony Trinitron then it gets tested on the customer's 27" Sony Trinitron of a slightly different model and it works like crap! Same manufacturer, very similar TV but apparently none of that matters.

Granted most S-Video amplifier circuits out there are flat out garbage so this came as no surprise.

FWIW I've had a few problems with my SuperCIC SNES flickering on certain games, Yoshi Story was pretty bad at it, I'd have to pause and wait for it to stop. Did this on both TV's I tried it on using el cheapo composite ebay cable.

    Isn't Yoshi's story a N64 game?

Were you trying to play NTSC version at 50hz, or PAL version at 60hz? A few games don't like that. I've heard Star Fox anyway.

Doesn't SNES also have a different PAL composite cable than NTSC? Haven't found much info since most search results are about RGB.

From that Snes Scart diagram we see that there's a 75 ohm resistor there, so composite only PAL cable will have that resistor as well

The resistor in that RCA cable is 38 ohms BTW; without it the image looks washed out.

On a PAL console, not a NTSC console.

This thread is about a SFC, which is NTSC.

Without mentioning it beforehand, people will jump to conclusions.

When it comes to asking people for help, the first thing people will say is most likely something you've tried. So doesn't hurt to mention what you've tried to begin with. Saves you and someone else's time.

"its not my tv" = "ive tried 3 different tvs"

    ?!

How the hell do you expect anyone to guess/assume/know that?

You are asking for help, be less of a tard about it.
