You can get "gamebit" (not the real name, but oh well) screwdrivers from www.mcmelectronics very cheaply. Is your power supply AC or DC? By this I mean it should say something like 120V AC input 12V DC out - the UK ones would say AC out on the lower voltage. Can anyone confirm a US one is the same?? In fact, if you're in Mexico, is it a US one? Is it Japanese? Or is it completely different? Also, what are the voltage and current ratings? Then we can check for you that you have the correct PSU. I'm thinking its internal, though - if RF works I don't see why composite shouldn't. However, I'm scared that if you've got a problem with composite, that the problem might exist on S-Video or RGB too. See what you can do, if not then get a SNES base unit only. You should be able to get one for what, $10US?
I'm using an "official" Lucky Brand (yup. Lucky (tm)) Super Nintendo power adapter, built for 127V, 60Hz, 17W, 850mA It says something along the line of 10Vcc Output. In Mexico, we pretty much use all the american standards. I'm thinking "new base unit" too, by the way. Next month I'll get one at the Baratillo (A Tianguis: a continous once a week flea market). I'm not spending more than 300 pesos (26 dollars), which is a reasonable price down here. I REALLY need to go to the black market also (the Authority's birthday is this friday and I haven't got her gift yet), so I'll check around for prices, or try to get a different energy adaptor to see if that's what causing the problem first. Thanks, dude.
