I ordered my TED from StoneAgeGamer during their Thanksgiving weekend sale and was a bit surprised with the posted disclaimer I had to acknowledge (see below). I have done some searching around both here and on the everdrive forums proper and I cannot find any reports of system wear due to the TED. Anyone experience this, know more, or what prompted such a bold statement? Should I really be concerned here or is this overblown?
I think that is just a standard disclaimer because some of the unlicensed things used thicker pcb. Like the gameshark for the saturn people said it was thicker and caused the pins to bend further back over time.
the TBED is the same thickness as a Hu card, I've had no problems on with mine Why not buy it directly from Krikzz? I don't like how Stone Age gamer seems to take all the credit for his work (unless he is cool with it)
I appreciate your feedback. Thanks. I prefer to buy things domestically and SAG was having a sale. I am fairly certain that SAG is a authorized re-seller for Krikzz and are not trying to "take all the credit for his work."
Honestly, SAG ended up being cheaper for my last purchase. And yeah, Im pretty sure he is authorized.
The V1.1 is 1mm thinner and the V2.4 is 1mm thicker than a Hucard. I think Krikzz made it thicker for more pressure on the pins. He had various problems with the previous versions.
I have a 2.2 so maybe it's a litttle different but any way, the spring contacts are designed to have tolerance.
What thickness is a Hucard? Standard PCB thickness doesnt have 2mm of difference from bottom to top end. Are you sure its not 0.1mm +/-? You can usually get PCB's between 0.6mm and around 2mm. So you dont have that much range to have the size difference you posted.
Bad_Ad84 your correct I cocked up there. V1.1 is 2.45mm v2.4 is 2.66mm Hu card is 2.55mm I've increased the angle on the V2.4 to help it sliding in but its still stiff to push in. I'm amazed at how .1mm makes it that much harder. The V1.1 is a lot more connector friendly.
I have the 2.4 and can confirm it's quite tough to plug in but now that it is in, it will not be coming out, ever! 0.11 of a mm sure makes a big difference.
