I'm more disappointed that they shut down Torsopants (their non-offensive branch), because I found those shirts far more funny. Still, I placed my final order with Tshirt Hell last week, when they first announced the closure. It's sad to see them go, but it's not a major loss.
This doesn't really make sense. The owner made a living selling offensive t-shirts (fine by me, incidentally), but eventually packed it in, not because of a lawsuit or a buyout, but because he got tired of all the offensive emails? Uh... Anyway, I bet there's innumerable other places to get similar gear, and I wouldn't wear it in the first place, so you'll have to forgive me for not really giving a fuck about this.
Haha, you have to be an idiot to wear some of it, really ;-) There's some very funny stuff, but there are lots of other suppliers of funny T-shirts most certainly.

Most of their shirts I would wear to a party. Some of the offensive ones aren't even really offensive. I have a good sense of humor, and see the satire in almost all their stuff. The only shirt really I think that can't be taken as a joke, is the "arrest black babies before they become criminals"
Yeah, because racist jokes aren't funny, but all those other jokes are? Nice double standards there. Not wanting to pick a fight, just pointing out that if you find any offensive humour funny, you can't then pussy out on one branch of it. You're right, as a t-shirt that is an exceptionally dumb and offensive thing to wear, but hey - it's not that much worse than anything else on the site.
okay, "what about allt he good things hitler did"? one of their worst shirts. But rings true, he DID do some good shit. It's not a double standard, the other ones are jokes. "arrest black babies before they become criminals" just, is not a joke. That's just a jab. There's just no joke there. the other "racist" jokes are funny. Including the other ones about african americans. The "black baby" shirt is just...no joke there.
The only danger is, that people are too stupid not to understand irony. And most of the general public are. If a black guy wore this, people might double take. A white guy could get in a lot of trouble. People are just so fucking dumb. I wouldn't ever wear one of these, but the reasons for shutting down are quite true, and make me wonder how we progressed as a human race. Then I remembered that it isn't the general public that make the progression, they're just here for the ride.
Yeah, some of his paintings are quite good! It's a shame that firstly in some countries it is illegal to sell them, and that people largely dislike them because of what he did afterwards. Can't they just be appreciated as a piece of art? Look at other artists - Van Gogh went mad too but that doesn't stop people liking his work. And Francis Bacon - woooah, weirdo alert! Eh. I agree that this shirt isn't funny. You can't say some racist stuff is funny, but not all. THAT is a double standard, my friend. If you're going to find racism offensive, then you find ALL racism offensive. If you find it funny, then find ALL racism funny.
the thing with racist jokes, is if there is a bit of satire in it I can appreciate it as satire. Example the shirt wher ethey say they hate and list all sorts of slurs. And at the end "But I <3 N*******" That, is a racist joke. But there is satire behind it. The black babies shirt, is just plain racist.
The intent of the shirt is not to be racist, but rather to appear to be so overtly racist that it offends even the most forward thinking and "tolerant" of individuals. Thus giving the wearer/creator the smug sense of satisfaction that even those that think they are able to take anything are offended by it. Apparently it works! I would never use this form of comedy, but if you had ever listened to some of Bob Sagets' stand up you will see that he employs it quite well.
So now jokes have to be true to be funny? Hmm. ServiceGames has it right, anyway. It's trying to be as offensive as possible, and in that it succeeds. The satire comes from the absurdity of the notion. I'm not saying it's hilarious, just that it's not "niggers are worthless" or something.
I will really miss them. I would never ever wear those shirts because only 1 in 10 people seeing them would understand it's a joke, but I thought they were really hilarious.
They do have some cool shirts but as mentioned above, some are just plain racist. If I wore the 'black babies' T-shirt where I lived I would get shot; not punched, kicked or stabbed, simply shot! Someone will open another one and rip-off some of there designs!
