That doesn't stop me from playing Sonic CD iOS while I am waiting the bus, though.

Well, most racing games feature this motion-based control system where you have to tilt the device to steer left/right, or to control a jet in a flying game. Granted, this is pretty cool, but it still doesn't feel right to me. It decreases the control I have over the game because you can't focus that well on the screen anymore.

For me that motion steering scares the shit out of me, as in that I will drop my freakisly expensive tablet while doing so :lol:

Any racing/fps/fighting or any on screen button control touch screen game, is shit in my eyes. Touchscreen just doesn't work without the physical buttons. I do enjoy casual simple games on my tablet, just to kill time while on travel.

I totally agree about the tilt steering nonsense. It's an ok concept, but for some people it just does not work. Same can be said for playing a racing game on the wii with tilty steering.
I'm a good driver in real life, but I rely on all senses of the experience (the physical force feedback of the wheel, vibrations from the road, the g forces associates with acceleteration and turning)..and none of this is present in these virtual steering environments. It feels weird and it always causes me to overcompensate.

I don't see any competive gaming happening on tablets anytime soon. People will play them, and their become an even larger part of the gaming market. But I don't think it will be taken very seriously compared to pc/console/arcade.

Though I suppose a similar argument could be made for any handheld gaming.

I guess people have shit from brains these days and cant remember when color phones came out and everybody was getting those shitty (like todays) java games

Guess what? it didnt change shit, people still buy consoles

About tablet racing games for me the problem is that because those games are outsourced to the cheapest crappiest studios in whofuckingknows the code is shit and that makes the steering super-laggy, most of those racing games are almost unplayable
