I agree. I think we can talk about it, what it does, but installation info, price, where it's sold, and stuff like that we can leave it for "google" :icon_bigg
after reading what you want I can say that this could probably not be done the forum way (at least not easily and it would probably not be so structured). I would recommend doing this wiki style or perhaps some custom php solution. but that's just my 0.02$
Another suggestion for FAQ's are rare models of released consoles. So for the PSX the 10 million models, DC all the millions of dreamcast direct models, and any others, things like the Panzer Dragoon Xbox, the derby stallion saturn, the something tigers cube, all that kind of thing. Perhaps one per console? I'm sure the DC one could be done very quickly because theres tons of info on the forum. However, these would really need images - most of the ideas between collecting the consoles is becaus ethey look so damn good, and without images its a waste
I've heard good about MediaWiki (http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/MediaWiki).. never used it my self thought. otherwise as I said you could just write something your self.. pros: + you can customize it after your needs + because it's your own code it can be harder for hackers to attack (if you are good and know what to not do) + easier to make it completly anonymous posting (because it's you who say what to log) cons: - you have to write it yourself - because it's your own code it can be easier for hackers to attack (if you are bad and don't know a shit what you're doing)
