Unsure of the USD conversion, but it had just hit £45,000 last night and dropped down to £40,000 this morning. It's still a very achievable goal with ~60 hours remaining! I'm going to follow up with all the press that covered it at the start and see if they'll do followup articles. Also a new Computerphile video went live yesterday, they usually give us a considerable boost!
I just looked at Sega 16's forums and saw your mention of a Youtuber. Shame they backed out, but you might still have a shot! I'd donate some if I wasn't being excruciatingly tight with my money right now :/
My guess is the You Tuber could have put in a big number, thinking the project would never get funded. As odd as that seems. Lousy move in any case, and if the project on KS falls short, but the game gets completed and ROM purchase is provided, I will buy!
Around 1,000 GBP away, good luck. I played the prototype on my Mega-Everdrive last night, I was really impressed with the character animation and movement. I always feel like homebrewers do not concentrate on that enough, and the result looks like something on the Action 52 cartridge. They put all this time and effort on the backgrounds and such, but their character physics are garbage, and that ruins it for me.
Cheers I spent a good 2 months doing nothing but tweaking player movement and input handling - acceleration, deceleration, drag, friction, braking, jump velocity, gravity, the works.
Great to see!!! Well done, backed it myself so looking forward to it. Now get to work........ He he he!
Ha! Someones got to do it. Seriously though it's a great achievement. Really looking forward to seeing the progress. Team looks good and the work so far seems solid.
Only 5k away from the Dreamcast version! https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/63454976/tanglewood-an-original-game-for-the-sega-genesis-m
20min and 600£ left for the DC version! Edit: It's over and there was still 170£ left for the Dreamcast version, but it's a success nonetheless! Congrats @Headcrab! Edit 2: Well it seems the Dreamcast version will see the light of day after all!
Yeah at only £170 short of a £7,000 stretch goal it would have been really unfair if we didn't go through with the Dreamcast port, especially considering my announcement about it was late in the project (ran into a complication). Thank you everybody for your support, I'm excited and terrified, and it's gonna be a very busy 2017!
