The old XDK I have actually runs a lot quieter than my retail Xenons from early 2006 did. Could there have been more rigorous production standards prior to the mass-manufacturing of the retail consoles?

Maybe it was something the Chinese did.

Trust me Xenon.7 and I know from experience these things are prone to die we started collecting these things 3-4 years ago before anyone knew wtf they were. Of course they were xenon mobo's and they are prone to die hence the big rrod factor before the jaspers. Weak solder joint's, over flexing, over heating, ect ect. Just because your board isn't dead yet doesn't mean it's going to last forever these things were made to fail.

Sorry for the late response, but when exactly did I say that my devkit would last forever? I simply find that my XDK runs a lot better than many of the other retail Xenons that I've serviced/repaired/owned over the past few years.

I expect it to die within the next two years tops, and when it does I'll probably end up getting it reballed.

P.S. - I knew what XDK's were in 2007. Maybe I don't seem smart enough to realize that there was going to be a successor to the original Xbox development kit, but somehow I figured it out!

Uh... Are trying to debate the fact that Xenons are bad motherboards?

    lol..

I'm surprised at how much like.. I've been trying to keep this on track, but when you debate my posts, it makes it hard.. Anyways, if I were you, I'd expand your knowledge a bit more about those Xenons. Considering most of them out there were passed around through me, and you're the one sitting here asking about them, trust me, I know..

No but THIS Kits with THIS Mainboards running good, i wouldn´t to say Xenon´s are the best. ;)

    Problem solved? ;)

The question is where are the technical difference on this 2 Boards? The Board from 2005 can´t be updated to a higher Recovery, and the 2008 Kit can.
    Thread going to be.... :gravedigging:

PS: Would you help me on this thread? http://www.assemblergames.com/forums/showthread.php?t=31155

Does the 2005 kit say pre-release hardware on older recoveries? It might be a really late beta kit.. Which is still odd.. Because I didn't think 009's were classified as Beta 2 state...And I know those 2008 kits are 009's with just the 011 sticker.

There's probably no difference really at all, they probably just reprogrammed the box making it think it's a final. I mean I've done the same with a beta kit of mine in the past, I just made it think it was final and it worked perfect as if it actually was.
