Fellow TecnoSoft freak here. I'll be watching this intently. So far there's a TFV Brigandine small toy (transformable, "Shooting Historica EX") and the TFV model that have been licensed.

But, I don't care about the toys. I hope any licensed games are done smartly. I was happy with TFVI, but would prefer any future games to be even more authentic, with old TS staff involved.

TF3 is one of my favorite games, I'd LOVE to see a compilation. Or code one, I wonder if it they would license it to me.

Maybe, if you had the money? Who knows what kind of people they'd consider. I wondered why they didn't release the old titles for download on Wii/PSN/XBLA. Perhaps they have a retail product in mind.

One update I've always dreamed of would be a new 4-Player online Herzog. Red, Blue, Green & Yellow teams, retro graphics & sound, new maps, minor gameplay upgrades and no slowdown would suit me just fine.

The Gold Packs on Saturn are interesting, in that TF2-4 were not emulated. They were ported with the original Mega Drive background music streaming as redbook CD audio, mixed with subpar MD sound samples. The interesting part is that they ran with absolutely no slowdown on Saturn, making them considerably more difficult (especially the already formidable TF4). Really, they're separate games to me. I play for high scores on the originals, and it's a fun option to be able to challenge yourself with no slowdown. In TF4 it's just self-inflicted torture.

TF4 on the Saturn doesn't stream the music. Only The Gold Pack 1 does that with TF2 and TF3.

My bad. It's definitely without slowdown, though.

Yakumo, do you think the arcade game is emulated on Gold Pack 2?

He meant it doesn't stream redbook CD audio, like 2 & 3. The CD audio sounds fine at first, but there are some timing & mixing problems that become apparent, compared to the original cartridges. The sound effects are even more garish. The TF4 port doesn't have those problems, if I remember correctly, with Yakumo's help.

That's right. With Gold Pack one the music is 100% red Book CD streamed and what a stupid idea that was because halfway through the round the music fades out then restarts. With Gold Pack 2 (TF4 and TF AC) the music is probably PCM. Then again I have a feeling that the music in TF4 could well be emulated because the fade out works just like the Mega Drive game. You know, knocking out channels as it fades. PCM would just fade normally unless they programmed it not to do so which in my point of view is more effort than needed. And as VMS said, the sound effects in the Gold Pack TF4 sound pretty much if not identical to the Mega Drive which also points me to a full sound engine emulation. This would also work with the TF AC conversion or is that emulated? I really can't say for sure because I'm not a programmer but if someone is then maybe they can take a look at the Gold Pack 2?
