Tectonic Elements Speaker Driver , which tab is positive and negative ?

howdy , i got these instead of the 4 ohm Kickers for my Vewlix Clone. I have a question tho on wiring them up , there are 2 tabs that are unmarked. Although there is one large tab and the other is much skinnier , if i'm correct the large tab is Negative and the other skinny tab is Positive.

Annoyingly, this depends on the speaker vendor - in most cases, the narrow tab is -VE and the wide one is +VE (I.E. the other way around from your suspicions about these ones), but either polarity is possible.

If you want to know for sure, get a little battery (like a non-alkaline AAA cell) and hook it up to the speaker - just touch the wire to the end of the battery and see which way the cone moves. If the +ve of the battery is connected to the +ve of the speaker, the cone should move out towards the front of the speaker.

I would use the AAA - but leave it connected for as short a time as possible...
