Is it really that strange that you would rather hear someone was shot and killed opposed to brutally decapitated and had they head taken around like some sort of fancy object? I'd much rather someone have been shot and killed than killed and mutilated.

Ofcourse I'd much rather not hear about either. It's strange how people blame movies, the media, videogames, etc. for being the reason people can do these awful things. I play alot of violent (or some people call them hyper violent or something) games and I can't see that causing me to be able to do many of the things in those games. In Gears of War you can use a chainsaw to saw an enemy apart. Yet I have no desire whatsoever to see an actual living being chainsawwed. But I'm sure there's been plenty of debates on all that already.

 

This is the same argument as "drugs made my friend crazy". Sorry, you have to do the really bad ones (and lots of them) for that to happen assuming you didn't already have those tendancies. Smoking a joint is not going to do that, just like playing GTA isn't going to make you go out and mow down a schoolyard full of children. Of course, if you were on the edge, GTA might've had something to do with it. Does that make it the game's fault?

Media across the board likes to sensationalize this shit. It's their bread and butter. Even Japan has jumped on the bandwagon to a very small extent, but it's still nothing compared to the Bible Belt, where exposed nipples cause emergency congress sessions.

 

It doesn't matter, if he played videogames someone will blame them how unconnected it may be. About 5 or 6 years ago there where a woman whose teenage boy had killed himself and she sued ALL companys from Valve to Nintendo.
