Not really fussed about this game - not really a fan of fighting games - but glad at least one developer is doing what some people want. Does seem a little clunky, but hey, it's the first of it's kind so what do we really expect? Will likely stick around for Child of Eden ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pKivlywog-o ) and Dance Central (I'm a sucker for Harmonix games) though.
It looks like shit. Some boring ghetto idiots fighting each other in a slow pace. Hard to tell if the moves are scripted, but I can't imagine that this plays well. It's also lacking an ego perspective, so you have to somehow imagine what move could hit the enemy. There's a reason why nobody ever made an isometric fighting game. Before I'd buy that game I'd probably complete the entire Momotarou Densetsu RPG library on the PC Engine.
Any game by mizuguchi is worth a shot, specially if its REZs successor! It's obviously scripted, else I guess they would need some highly detailed physics and ragdoll math done on the fly to make it realistic, and with kinect's image processing already taking a toll on the X360 I seriously doubt they are doing that...
Yeah, but how many of those claimed it was because the wriststrap broke, partially because they kept letting go of the controller? I don't think MS can be successfully sued by people for them breaking their TV with their body (although I expect people will damn well try, especially if MS forgets to include the types of warnings Nintendo provide).
It looks like a PS2 game to me, but if it can sense movement properly and is responsive, it could be good. I'm not sure I'd want to spend much time fighting thin air though. If there was a way to use a punch bag it would be much better.
Notice when the guy is playing the game, the computer opponents don't fight back at all! And how could they? as that would break the realism. Imagine your character on screen falls to the ground after being hit, yet you are still standing, great!
That's a very good point. I didn't even think about what happens when you character falls down. Let's hope Ubisoft has...
They can sue for anything really, another thing is if the lawsuit gets dismissed... I suppose they are going to make you do some move like flap your arms or something with a short countdown, kinda like in Peace Walker where you punch buttons like crazy to keep Snake from dying during torture. BTW, is anyone else is having a Activator deja vú?
What do you mean DEJA VU? The Activator is still alive, I'm playing with mine right NOW. It changed the world of video games forever and the change still lasts today. I wonder how many games were totally released for this masterpiece of engineering, it's was hard to keep track of all the new releases even years after the hardware came out. Oh I gotta finish this so I can play ACTIVATOR again, it's so addiciting and new and it just changes everything to this date. And this doesn't even include all the resulting social and economic developments...
That Kinect also rocks but like with the Activator it seems software support won't be strong enough to make it successful?
This was the first thing I thought about when I saw this. Then I reflected on how, as a kid, I never ever wanted one. Similar to this game and Kinect you see...
Don't you worry! Soon you will have a young virtual boy to talk to, and he will assuredly share your enthusiasm for Kinect! Edit: Now that I think about it, you will also have a slew of disturbing fury creatures as well. Your social prospects just keep on increasing!
