If you don't log into the site regularly, after 30 days (one month) you get bumped to registered class from established class This means loss of access to this area. -ASSEMbler
At this time of year when people frequently take vacations, is 7 days really a good idea? In the UK summer holidays are often a fortnight and I for one love to switch my PC off and ignore it until I return. Just a thought, but perhaps the "regular" logging in should be increased to accommodate this. Why not a month for example?
Seems a bit extreme to me. What about people that are regulars but end up taking their leave for a short time due to events irl (vacation, moving, etc.). Why punish them for such things?
You can always make a hand-picked list of your own discression if you think such measures are desirable.
I have a question, if you for whatever reason, manage not to sign in for 30 days could one regain access? I don't have any intention of being away that long, but would like to know.
Do you physically have to login, or merely access the site whilst logged in? (I ask because I make use the board feature that lets me stay permanently logged in, as I send too much of my life entering passwords as it is...)
It only counts if you let your cookie expire, meaning you don't try and post at all , for 30 days, and don't notice you can only see the basic forums a "guest" can see. Guests can't see these forums and half of the other forums. Odds are if you're reading this, it's not ever going to be an issue for you. If you log in, and see yourself on the "who's online" list, you're fine.
C'mon man, seriously, what the heck is that rule? Seems more unpratical and for the sake of being a cool clique than anything else.
If you don't come back to the site at least ONCE in 30 days, then I don't think you are entitled access to all the goodies that people who come every day bring with them. If that isn't enough criteria for a "established" user class then what is? Just my opinion.
I do think its a good idea because this way it should get rid of the people that are just leeching here to get things for free like sonic xtreme and never post again which in result should stop leakages.
Not really....they don't have to post here at all, as long as they log in at least once every 30 days. The only thing this will do is remove people who forget, are too busy, or don't care enough to log in within a 30 day time period. Leakage is still very possible. (Besides, even people who don't have access can still donate for things like xtream, then leak it early......right?) It it's leakage that's the problem, a better idea would be to put a hidden watermark in every copy that goes out, then you can see where the leak is coming from.
Hmmm.... I really dont know what to think of this. Half my brain is saying, "This is good! Who cares anyway? You come here every day numbnuts", while my other half is saying, "Wow... I hope we dont go past the limit and not be able to ever return!" :ayashi: < This face best describes me!
I guess but surely most of us post or log in nearly everyday or once a week so theres nothing to worry about.
I leave forums and come back after some time... (Penny-Arcade, red vs blue, digit press, MLG, shoryuken...) I guess I'm going to have to make a sticky saying "log into ASSEMbler" on my monitor. hah.
