I'm planning on buying a PS2 now, since I've seen Resident Evil Outbreak File#2 So I have some questions about it: 1. Is the broadband adapter working, so I can play online? 2. Is it possible to hook up a HDD? 3. Or a Modchip? Thanks in Advance PS: What would be a good PS2 Version to buy? (No PSTwo please!!)
if your talking about a PS2 TEST, the dev hardware, than i remember reading that you cannot hook up the broad band apdapter, the hdd works i think*...and you might be able to play retail games any ps2 version is okay, it depends what you want, if you go for the old style ps2, than you can have your hdd...which will speed up load times, if you go for the pstwo, than you have the network adpater built in but no hdd support, and sorry for mentioning pstwo..
Id buy a pre version 8 if you want to mod it, less work since you should to a cd drive mod or some crap to v8 and 9s i think.
1.) I'm pretty sure the broadband adaptor works fine with it. 3.) Why would you want to, it's region free? And they do play retail games. Edit - I was wrong .
The broadband adapter will work on a TEST PS2. You can set it up with most any broadband enabled game. The hard drive will physically connect but the hard drive setup disc WILL NOT work with a TEST PS2. -hl718
well its all about personally prefrences, i myself enjoyed et for the 2600, though i was into the whole "its so cool im playing a 20 year old game" that it didnt matter what i was playing
Just to mention - the HDD disc and all other utility discs works fine on all TEST PS2 consoles. If you buy model number DTL-H3000x (x = 0, 1, 2) you will need to copy the original HDD utility disc, patch it and then burn it to a new disc and it will oot fine. If you have model number DTL-H3010x (x = 0, 1, 2), the original disc will boot fine. If you have model number DTL-H5000x (x = 0, 1, 2), the original disc will boot fine. All PS2 "TEST" debugging stations are region free and can play all retail games. DO NOT MOD A TEST PS2! What's the point? If you want to mod a PS2 do it to a retail console, it's a damn site easier. Plus what are you hoping a modded TEST station would do different from a normal TEST station?
PLEEEASE NEVER EVER PUT A CHIP IN TEST/DEBUG PS2. TEST PS2 is for collection, not for "warez". Use a chipped retail for this.
