is anyone else here having issues using the ps3 store? ever since they changed it years ago to fall in line with the ps4 store version it's been really bad and causing lots of issues. i've noticed lots of other people complaining of the same thing but sony never do anything worthwhile to fix it. i'm not sure where the best place for complaining to sony is, so does anyone know the best place to send a complaint so they may take some notice for once? i posted this below on the ps3 store support pages hoping someone may take notice of yet another store complaint. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hopefully somebody from sony is reading this or otherwise does anyone know the best place to complain so Sony might actually do something about the issues? Since Sony changed the store to fall in line with the ps4 store version all i have had is problems, slowness, crashing, causing my ps3 to freeze and then needing to perform system restore on startup and praying no data has been lost/corrupted. I have read what some people who know what they are talking about posted online about the fact that the ps3 can't handle the ps4 style store baecause it just ain't powerful enough. Sony in their infinite wisdom instead of sticking with the old style store which worked perfectly fine, they went ahead and changed the store to fall in line with the ps4 version despite the fact it does not and more than likely will never will work properly on the ps3. Why not stick with the ps3 store which worked fine? surely all the cross buy purchases, bundles etc would still be available even if the ps3 and ps4 stores are not running the same software so long as the purchase data is recorded onto the system. so what is the excuse? Customers have been complaining about the ps4 style store on the ps3 since it launched years ago and i for one have now had enough of sony pretending they will fix it with an update just so the update performs worse than the version before. If people who know what they are talking about tech wise say the ps4 style store cannot be run properly on a underpowered ps3 no matter how many updates then why are sSony insulting us by not changing the store to a version which does not cause problems for ps3 users. I also have a ps4 and vita btw and the store never causes problems for my ps4 ever, which shows it works fine on the more powerful ps4. My ps3 froze today just because i looked at a scsreenshot of a potential game purchase and it's not the first time this has happend. How can this service pass for acceptable? what are Sony doing? do they even care about the store on the ps3 and the overwhelming amount of unhappy customers? Come on Sony sort it out. it's been to long trying to make the ps4 style store work properly on the ps3. It's like trying to fit square pegs in round holes and it is horrible, slow and never works properly. I'm so angry after years of this i could carry on typing forever so i say it again and hopefully others will join me. SONY FIX THE DAMN STORE FOR THE PS3!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sony Interactive Entertainment you mean But the parent company is a lot closer to SIE now than it ever has been, it is one of the few decent things they still have going.
i did post that rant in my OP at the sony playstation forums but i'm expecting the thread to either be ignored by anyone connected to sony or i will get fobbed off just like all the other ps3 store complainers. i will use the store from my pc from now on but sony shoot themselves in the foot here. a lot of gamers myself included browse the store in between gaming from the comfort of the sofa and very often impulse buy some digital games. of course if there is a digital game thats a must have i will purchase it from the store on my pc and download it to the ps3 on power up but that kills the random impulse purchases while using the console itself. surely sony must realise the ps3 store operating so poorly is bad for business. and after all it's a sony playstation so the buck stops with mr. sony lol.
Sony isn't your friend, the sooner you accept that sooner you wouldn't care. PSStore was fucking slow when GTAV came out, such a hassle to use.
yeah i know they are not my friend and only care about money and nothing else, same as microsoft, nintendo and any other corporations for that matter. i got a response from the ninjabee team regarding akimi village missing from the playstation store (which i made a thread about here) and the ninjabee team did not even know it had been removed and was not even informed by sony. apparently sony told them they will get the game back on the store when they can but the ninjabee guy told me he don't know how soon it will be. removing a game from the store without even notifying ninjabee causing loss of revenue sounds like a breach of contract. i know little about law in such matters but it don't sound right to me. sony just don't care about customers or small developers from what i gather.
Everytime the PS3 updates, you have to rebuild the database or file system in order to use the Store. It's stupid but it usually works.
i will just use the pc store from now on regardless if there is a work around or not. i just don't trust the instability of the ps4 style store running on the ps3, you can tell by how sluggish it is that the ps3 can't handle it and it feels like it's about to crash at anytime.
Did you check whether it is your PS3's HDD that is actually dying? Before I replaced my disk, the console was hanging randomly and occasionally needed the whole firmware to be re-installed. While I have to agree that the PS Store is slow, I never had it freeze up on me before. But then again, I don't always go there.
I agree with everything this guy has to say!! I once had enough of $ony's bullshit for the past couple of weeks! It's to the point to where i just wanna move to PC if this continues. NOT just the store that's it's acting up it is also the Internet Browser as well!
They are issues I've accepted and I've moved on. SO Much easier to use the online store. Plus you have access to a wishlist so you can keep track of the PSN games you want. What I don't like about the PS3 store though is that it times out. I'm looking for a few games I find it then I go to order them TIME OUT back to XMB bitch. UGH!
Mine actually crashed yesterday for the first time. I'm more worried about Sony releasing PS1 games that are barely playable like Spyro. If they can't do the job properly pay someone to do it for you
i have been using the pc version lately but i have logged onto the ps3 store once or twice just to check some things out and my suspicions were confirmed. let's take the deal this month for mega baseball on ps3 and ps4. the ps4 deal price is slightly more expensive then the ps3 deal but using the pc store i can only find one price for the game deal and that is the more expensive ps4 price. i cant remember the exact prices but if log into the ps3 store on my ps3 i can see the ps3 deal version and it's around £1 cheaper. i cannot find the ps3 version at this deal price on the pc store version. imagine if this happens with lots of future games on offer. could add up to a lot of money not saved. sony can't get it right even when you use the pc version and they don't care either by the looks of it. my hard drive is fine btw. my hdd has nothing to do with the fact the ps3 just can't handle the store since they changed it to match the ps4 store version and thats the only answer there is
