  2. Don't worry, as long as there's nothing with the name "Skynet" related to it, we're safe.

    No disassemble, Stephanie!

Seriously, health care, welfare, the economy, blah blah blah blah blah.

I'll vote for the first Presidential Candidate who promises to build giant robots.

Gundams, Metal Gear, Orbital Frames, whatever...I don't care, as long as they're big and they blow shxt up.

    ..........

I love robots, everything from Tetsujin 28 to the powerloader in Aliens....and then theres this??

    http://www.neogentronyx.com/

But out of all practicle designs in movies and anime, the Aliens powerloader seems to be the most practicle and plasusible...but Im prob wrong as per...

Wasnt there a piocture posted on here of a japanese industrial robot that was like the powerloader but with tank treads to move items in emergencys!?!?

    I'll try and find it.....

I don't think till some guy by name of Minovski discovered Minovski particle don't think we will see MS any time soon... what's the point when you can track on radar and shoot the giant lumbering piece of metal from safe distance... Remember the setting for Gundam was due to M.P. they couldn't use radar and hence close combat machine - aka MS...

sometimes I wonder where are all those great gadgets on Jetson's... we are in 21 century so we ought to drive in flying cars and dominant fashion is silver space suit with robot maid at each house... dame it...

    Re: ..........

there's research tem in Japan developing the power suit that acts like exoskeleton and gives the power boost... they reckon with technologies advancing at current rate it won't be too far off before we will see emergency crews wearing these armour like exoskeleton lifting tons of concrete blocks by bare hand and jump into 4-5th floor from ground... and then of course there will be military application as well... the demo I saw was quite impressive although you have to wear this giant backpack that contains the battery and other processing units...

Haha, some people really have too much time on their hands, along with a quite disturbed mind.

Still, I wouldn't be surprised that robots would become common workforces in Japan in the next twenty to fifty years.

When can I order my Mecha? ;-)

Um, you do realize that CIWS has been a feature in pretty much every Gundam ever made?

refresh my memory... what's CIWS? O_O

the whole point of mobile suit was due to Minovski particle the traditional radars were obsolete and that bring the need for close combat machines. Mobile suite was logical progression given it was first developed at Side 3 in space. I'm sure if it was first deigned on Earth it would've been something else - and not as cool looking as humanoid shape mobile suite. :D

    cheers

CIWS - Close In Weapons System. A.K.A. "shoot the missile till it explodes". What, you thought those vulcans in the head were for show? (In fact, in SEED, the Strike uses the exact same vulcan cannon for CIWS as does the Archangel (Igellstung).)

There are other reasons for the design of mobile suits, AMBAC being the biggest.

funniest thing is the note on the first robot the oldest of all 3:

In a moment of mental confusion No.1 went suicide at the end of 1998 by ram a cupboard with full speed and so did break down.
