Ahh, yes. "Tell all your friends" is much better than "Where you want to be". It's has to be one of my favorite CDs ever made. I like every song on it, and I can't say that about many of the other CDs I own. I listen to it on the way to work every morning I loled
Yeah, "A Decade Under The Influence" has to be the only song on Where You Want To Be that even comes close to anything on Tell All Your Friends. They're just not the same after the second singer left... By the way, have you heard the unreleased track "Follow The Format"? It was recorded sometime before the big split but after Tell All Your Friends, and has got to be one of their best songs, in my opinion. Send me an IM or PM if you're interested.
If only I had a turntable. Yes, vinyl is the true medium for music, unfortunately I have a very limited collection. A few favs from my collection: Underground Resistance - 12" Piranha/12" Entering Quadrant/12" Killer Whale The Cardigans - Lovefool 45/Carnival 45 ^_^_^
Ah, Vinyl. My turntable, as well, has died. I have ABC's "Beauty Stab" (got it for FIVE PESOS some years ago) which is a BEAUTIFUL piece of 80's new wave rock (and not really a famous album. In fact, I don't think there's a CD) - The best of Alan Parsons Project (my girlfriend saw them live... and she somehow got a Guitar Pick.), and a Transparent LP edition of Pink Floyd - The Wall (among other things, like Spandau Ballet and lots of classical music). The good thing is they sell replacement parts for turntables downtown. The bad thing is I also need a motor to make it turn. I might get one for cheap at a flea market one day.
Scouting around second hand stores might be a better option than you think... I got a very nice Akai AP-206C direct-drive with Shure cartridge for only 9e (granted, the auto-return mechanism is a bit fuxx0red but I'll fix it soon, probably rip it out as I don't mind full-manual).
Stuff from the recent movie I got an WinMX. I dunno why, but I really like some of the songs. Im listening to classical Fantasia stuff, now, because I wanna make a extremely violent flash game with some classical music, like the Chainsaw the children game I posted earlier. :smt096 :smt096
If you like the movie soundtrack, you should try to dig up the original Broadway cast recording - same songs (plus more), but it has a more timeless feel to it. Of course, should the opportunity present itself, actually SEEING the show comes highly, highly recommended.
The Morrowind and Crusader: No Regret soundtracks. In Flames: The Jester Race will probably be a good choice for the ride home...
