I'm just wondering if anyone could recommend a service they've used (or even help me directly) getting an Aiwa stereo boom box from Japan.
What do they call them, proxy services?

 

Some of us on here have been having a discussion on some of the services. Shipping for a boom box might be back breaker though depending on the weight.

Was wondering if anyone in the US could bid on an item for me (or I could bid and have it sent to them, I guess?), so that I can avoid the ludicrous shipping fees and potential Global Postage Programme fees. Does anyone in the UK have an eBay seller account they'd let me list something on once? With fees paid upfront and of course after at the point of sale?

I bought an xbox from a member here in Italy and it's supposed to ship to the US but based on my translation of the tracking on Italian postal website, it said the item has been delivered in ROMA 4 instead of my address. Does anyone here know Italian or know how Italian postal system work ? the postal website doesn't have the English version of the tracking page so I honestly don't know what's going on with the package.

Your translation is fine.
There is something strange in that tracking... It should be a one day service, but it take much longer.
It goes from Rome to Rome via Milan, that don't make sense at all.
Maybe the seller give you the wrong tracking number?
this tracking number is not for an international delivery...

Thanks for your help. A member also PM me and it's exactly like you said. The service is for domestic Italian only. The package got shipped from ROME and delivered to ROME. It looks like the tracking is not for my package. I have contacted the seller and still waiting for his response.

 

Non answer from the seller? it's strange as there is "IT" at the end of the tracking number generaly it's for internationnal package (like FR from FRANCE or US from USA) generaly not for domestic.

 

insured domestic package will have the country code 'US' at the end for USPS package. I guess the same thing for Italian packages. The seller has gotten back to me and he's looking to the issue. Hopefully everything goes well.
