Can anyone in the US help me buy a laptop and hard drive from Amazon.com? It's a private seller, so they won't ship internationally. It comes to just over $600, but I'll pay up front and arrange for a courier to come and collect it myself.

You could use OpenVPN and then go to VPNGate which has free proxies.

I am in the UK and would be happy to help people if I can. Long time lurker on these forums but only post very rarely. Happy to help though as I know how frustrating it is when you spot an auction of something you are after and can't bid for it!

It's probably one of the countries with the fewest requests for help, but is there anyone in Australia who could help me get a couple of PAL New 3DS consoles before Christmas?

Is there anybody in the UK or in Europe that could help me buy a screw/bot kit?. I'm trying to mount my new TV but for the life of me can't find a seller of this kit that ships to Canada.

*EDIT* Willing to send up to $30 worth of my products in my shop for the help

    You're wall mounting your television?

In my experience, you buy the correct bracket for your model of television. Look for a decent television bracket supplier on eBay - they'll list the bracket as compatible with your television. The best ones list them for specific models. Let them know which television you have, and they'll ensure you get the right bolts and mounting plate.

Shipping a bracket from the UK would be prohibitively expensive - they're solid metal!

Somewhat, it's a TV stand with intergrated mounting.

Thing is, Sony is using a propriety design when it comes to wall mounting with their current w6-w9 series sets (Got a 50W790B). With that being, its extremely difficult to get an solution that's stable for my stand that i bought around 2 years ago for around 400 CAD.

I found a solution now but it took alot of google searching and a few phone calls though lol.

My TV stand except its using a different mounting solution - check below:

    With this mounting solution:

I'd always go for a sturdy wall mount and separate stand myself. Although... do you make your walls out of crazy material, like wood and plasterboard, as per America? ;)

UK brackets are made to go into brick walls.

I don't think we have that model over here, but you need this VESA adapter, apparently:

Greece based and would ship worldwide. Official Sony adapter. Or try finding an SU-WA1 over there.

Just going to give this a bump, as if I can't sort it in a couple of days it won't happen. Also realised that of course any New Zealanders would be able to help just as well.

There's a verified Kiwi on the list. Hoping to get some of the Aussie on side soon, too.

    Hi guys,

I need somebody from Sweden to be able to buy/forward a few *special* Nintendo DS games for me (Tradera). I'll pay for the service.

EDIT: I've just found somebody from this forum, thanks!

Bit of an update on the process of verifying people, which I have been carrying out through December.

At the start of the month, 7 users were removed as they hadn't logged in for at least a year. One had poor feedback due to a language barrier. This is obviously going to be a problem, so there is likely going to be a requirement that you can translate between local language and English reasonably well - you'll need to be able to use local sites and then communicate with the users.

I then PMed everybody left on the list on 5 December, asking if they wished to remain on the list. I explained that we may well instigate a verification process, perhaps twice-yearly. What I didn't mention was that this communication was their first test ;) Congratulations to the 16 users who replied - you are already verified for the next 6 months.

There were 10 users who didn't reply. They will probably be removed from the list shortly, although they remain for the time being, unverified.

    Stats

Of those 10 users who didn't reply, 5 of them have logged in since I sent the PM. 4 of those who logged in have both their "email notification of new private messages" and "new private message notification pop-up" set to DON'T. If you're not going to receive notifications of new PMs and you don't check your PMs, how are you going to help users? Worse still for you, if you list something for sale, you'll be ignoring potential buyers. It might be, therefore, that we require users to have some form of PM notification turned on if they want to stay on the list.

Here are the response times for the users that did reply:

    Under 24 hours: 10
    Under 3 days: 1
    4-7 days: 3
    7-14 days: 2

It's great that the vast majority replied within a day - well done, guys! The two that took a week or two to reply may have been a little slow had it been a request for help on an auction. One of them doesn't have their PM notifications on, so improvement may be possible. However, we appreciate people can be busy. We can mention there may be a delay in the listing on individual users if requested, perhaps. We can also ask that users reply to the topic when they're going on holiday or otherwise busy for, say, a week or more.

For those who are verified (and indeed everyone!) it's worth checking your PM settings.

If anyone would like to go on the list, feel free to get in touch. I'd say people with the usual 50 posts / at least 3 months membership and the ability to translate between English and local language reasonably well, if applicable. Those in countries not catered for are particularly welcome!

I've also added links to verified users' feedback threads, where one exists. I had to merge some users' threads, where they had 2 or 3 from over the years. Those I haven't listed don't have a thread yet. If you've done a transaction with any users without one, please create a thread for them - see the usual formatting in feedback threads. Mention this list if you like - it's quite helpful if you do. And if you create a thread for a user on this list, PM me and I'll add it to the list. Thanks!

Hopefully, the verification process and this spring clean should keep the list easy to use, give confidence that these users will be able to help and keep them on their toes!
