It has come to my attention that not everyone knows how to spell the name of Microsoft's console correctly. As hard as it may be, it is possible to do, so here it is: XBOX That's it. That's correct. That's how you spell the name of Microsoft's console. It's not X-Box, there's no need to put a hyphen between X and Box. There is no hyphen, has never been a hyphen, and will never be a hyphen. EcksBocks is wrong too, but we're not even going to go there.
SexBox? Oh, wrong again. And if thats the case, PSX=Hybrid Console, its not the PSX when referring to the playstation/ PlaystationX, the Playstation Prototype name. Its not the final name as far as i know.
I've seen a lot of that on eBay and other gaming sites, hadn't noticed it too much here. Then again I've been gone for like 2 and 1/2 weeks.
On Ebay, they type in caps and say :OMG RARE OMG OMG X360 WANT 1000 BUX: BTW, is X360 right? Its less of a mouthful than XBOX 360, I guess. PSX is correct...if you mean that overpriced PS2 thing.
in some mag i read: Microsofts XBox 360 (Xbox Three-Sixty) blablablableh... they want us to spell it all the same...
Dang, i always though it was spelled ''cheeseburger''. So close. Thanks for the correction  No, really, i dont want to start a war here mate, but was this thread really that needed?
Actually, I was talking to an Advanced AstroPhysisist professor of mine about the EksBocks... here is what he had to say: Due to the alignment of earth with Uranus and the sun, the moon creates a little "extra" gravity here on earth... the sea level rises more (or falls, depending on the time of day and location), the crazies in the subway start melting, and the X in XBOX is pulled away from the rest of its body. A hyphen "-" was surgically implanted to keep the X and BOX together.
Needed? Maybe not, However, I don't see the problem with having a little lighthearted, off topic fun every now and then. There have been worst threads in the past after all. My intentions for this thread were never serious. I was just venting about a little annoyance. To tell you the truth, I didn't think anyone would even reply (there really was no need to... cahaz  ).
I should show you guys some of the emails from microsoft PR reps where they go off on how to spell xBoX... some of 'em are a dozen pages long. The official spelling of XBOX 360 is just that. The official spelling of PlayStation as well.
And what the hell's up with spelling Xbox' plural as "Xboxen"? The plural of "box" is "boxes", right?
It's a pun based of the plurel of "ox" (the animal) being "oxen". That makes the plurel of xbox, xboxen. I've always been amused by that one, but i can definately see why someone who's primary language isn't english would have problems. If you can believe it, the plurel of XBOX is supposed to be XBOX' but that doen't make any sense from an english standpoint. It's supposed to be prounounced as "xboxes". The ones that'll really throw you when it comes to pronounciation are the A'can and the Wowow...
