I don't think it is readily available anywhere. However once the rom dumps are made anyone would be able to get it I'm sure. So just hope that someone dumps and releases the roms.

De Ja Vu, back in Yakumos old RTC thread I spoke about how cool, it would be to see a 32X mega CD version of Final Fight.

What could've been the sequel to Street Fighter.

One of my favorite 80's side-scrolling beat 'em ups - Final Fight. I bought the PCB w/ manual over a decade ago. Its got the hooker bitches but its not a hack just a normal coin-op release.

But who knew? This could've been the sequel to the original Street Fighter game.

    Interesting tidbits...
Final Fight was originally shown at coin-op trade shows under the title Street Fighter '89. According to Yoshiki Okamoto, the sales division of Capcom originally requested for a Street Fighter sequel, so his team decided to promote Final Fight as a Street Fighter sequel at trade shows (going as far to refer to one of the main characters as a former Street Fighter. The title was changed to Final Fight before its official release after feedback from operators stating that the game was nothing like Street Fighter.

Notice how the Kit instruction manual illustration was left looking Street Fighter-ish.

Those illustrations can be found on the marquee for the original Street Fighter 1. I always thought that was interesting! :icon_bigg

I have uploaded another video of the Final Fight bootleg, this time showing the game board. I've been meaning to take pics/make a video of it for a while now, and while I was making my MKII video I remembered that I removed the board from the machine it was in, so I figured I'd take a video of that too. You can view it here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=82GVzy1wSbs

    Poison wasn't a girl.

It was always a dude w/boobs.

The character got changed for the US because Capcom figured that a transexual enemy wouldn't fly with NOA.

NOA told them to do it, it was not Capcom on their own.

So what if the poison persona was a transsexual, actually if she was a TS, then poison was probably the first transsexual video game character.

According to the ultimate history of video games, one of capcom usa's employees was complaining that it didn't seem right that a mayor would beat up women to which a designer quickly exclaimed those aren't women they are transvestites.

Based on how that was written I assume the capcom designers said that to please the american side. If anyone wants ill scan that part of the book that adresses that issue.

Sayin999's account seems right. I doubt that all these models, figures, games, and products that feature Poison got the gender wrong (ie. as a girl).

I was actually playing Double Dragon II last night and I realized, there are quite a few female characters in it. I understand they're different companies but it makes it seem as if in the NES days, that sort of thing was OK. :110:

Oooh Poison was from Final Fight? Does that mean that Hugo is also from Final Fight? He's in Street Fighter III, Poison dashes on screen when he's beaten.

Terry, to dump the game you just need an eprom programmer that supports 16bit roms. The program roms which are probably the only ones different from the normal final fight, though maybe some graphics roms, are 16bit. The Z80 sound program roms are 8bit and aren't a big deal. Basically you just use a screw driver or other tool to carefully remove each rom from the socket, put it in the programmer and read it. You'd want to name each rom by the number printed on the PCB though so you know what went where.

Ah never thought about that. So that's where the name Hugo comes from.
