you apperently haven't been here: http://forums.benheck.com/viewforum.php?f=5& :110: I've never seen a mass produced N64p, I'd love to get my hands on the L64 http://forums.benheck.com/viewtopic.php?t=11163
With the Super Famicom being cloned be interesting to see if a company tries to make it portable so you can play Super Mario on the move with a real cartridge. None of this nancy boy GP2X or suchlike with the 1,000,001!!1!one ROMZ(tm). So far the only the Famicom, Genesis and PC Engine (oh and too a degree the Master System with the Game Gear) had mass produced all in one units but all of them had issues with either battery life or screens. The clone Famicom units with there whitewashed screens, the Nomad with it's just over an hour if your lucky with 6 fresh duracell batteries, The PC Engine GT with it's horrid triangle triad display screen meant that anything scrolling wiggled and it got rid of a lot of pixels too and the Game Gear + Master System convertor just got rid of pixels so some games were unreadable and unplayable. Hope some nice company does a new Megadrive or Super Famicom portable clone. Please. I want to dig out cartridges to play them and not get bored with ROM x after 2 minutes...
Someone should try making a portable n64 with the ique. It's a bit more scaled down then working with the N64 pcb plus everything is pretty self contained (just have to look into the pin setup to find out whats power and whats video).
I acually still own a Game Axe and NES adapter, just like in Cone's pic. Haven't turned that thing on years.. eats batteries like no one's business. -SK
there's now another portable Famicom doing the rounds under a number of different names - Famizero Portable, FC Mobile, Coolboy 2 (Coolboy 1 is similar to the Game Theory Admiral), even Subor do a version. no idea how good it is, though - has anyone tried it? I have a game axe color and a usa cartridge adapter which has a plasic case around it making it a bit more stable then the circuit board only version. For the person who asked earlier, the reason the screen turns off is so you can turn it off when you are outputting to a tv set. The system outputs with a genesis 2 composite video wire. It can also use unlisenced nes controllers that have genesis like plugs (stuff like polystation and those n64 controller like thingies come with the proper controllers)
